it isnt wrong to go out with someone that you dont find attractive. just because theyre not good looking doesnt mean that that they cant be really nice. heck, this person might be "the perfect one for you." but if things really dont turn out well, i dont think this person would mind all to much to be friends. just give them a chance before you tell him that.

The time to tell him that you just want to be friends is when your date begins, not afterward. That way, both of you will know what you expect, and if he becomes insistent on more than friendship, you have every right to take off for home without further obligation.

Actually there's a simple phrase that takes care of most of this, that you need to use early on.

It's "No, thank you."

The buying of a phone was not a favor he did for you. He's a customer. You're not obligated to him for anything other than good, courteous help with his purchase.

What is the point of going out? If it is to get sex or establish a relationship leading to marriage, then kill the dating. But if it is to find people who share interests and form friendships and it is possible with this guy, then keep it. Normally, it would be a different kind of "date" - picnic and folk festival rather than dinner and movie, but it has to start somewhere.

well you dont echnically no him yet, so if you get 2 no him, them maybe you'd be attractive more. I no that im as shallow and i no its hard 2 look past a guys looks, but just tell him instead of a date, you want to just get 2 him. Then take it from there, bcz u gotta try it before u toss it, its like nothin ventured nothin gained thing!

I've gone out w/a couple of guys whom i didnt find attractive...or didnt like. Eventually i grew apart from them...my advise would be to distance..or not go out w/them since the beginning. That way they dont get their hopes up...and u dont break their hearts :(

thats what dating is all about -- to find out if you can be friends and then maybe more than friends --- its not "wrong" plus you may find that he grows on you as time passes --- best wishes
