An "out of area" caller calls our house everyday, at least 2 times a day, And when we pick it up they hang up on us. This has been going on for a couple of months. One time I answered and said nothing, then it was a guy who said hello three times. We don't want to change our #. Is their anyway to find out who this person is? Or can we put a stop to this?

Sounds like that could be an automated dialer, that, when it gets a pick-up, tries to find an unoccupied telemarketer to do the call, and fails. Ain't no biggy.

This sounds like an automated dialer system for telemarketing. They call for a couple of weeks via computer to see when someone answers the phone so they can chart when you might be home before sending the calls to actual reps. There are a couple of things you can do:

Put yourself on the Do Not Call list if you haven't already. It'll take some time to become active on the list, but it's worth it.

You can contact your phone company to see if they have any sort of "anonymous call rejection" feature. That way anyone who's name and telephone number aren't displayed on caller ID won't be able to call you. The phone company may also have some other tips for you to try.

If these options don't work, then by all means keep a log of when the calls come in and if anyone says anything or not. and take it to the police if you feel it's necessary.

Changing your number is the safest thing to do .
to find out who this person is : Every time the phone ring write this on a paper with the date and hour . Keep this and after 2 weeks you can go to the police with this proves of stalking.
This is the only way because phone companies don't do it without the order from the police.
wish u luck
