It's not how much you can lose it is what you are losing!
If your body goes into "starvation mode" you don't lose fat you lose (protein) muscle! Fat is the last thing to be lost when a person starves themselves. Then when you start eating again the muscle doesn't return...fat does, because your body is still in starvation mode and it protects itself from future "attacks" by storing more fat!
You want a website on this? Just google bulimia and anorexia. People who repeatedly starve themselves even for short periods of time lose healthy muscle. And guess what is the best fat burner in your body? Muscle.
This is why there are so many fat bulimics....

You will lose around a pound. An average person needs 2,000 calories a day and a pound of fat contains 3,500 calories. Starving yourself to lose fat is counter productive. I say this because, after awhile your body goes into starvation mode and tries to store as much fat as possible. Your body will switch to using muscle and fat as energy.
You will lose weight, yes, but you will also lose muscle mass.
Weight loss isn't an overnight thing. You have to work at it. If you really need to lose weight, you can try these.
1. Lower your calorie intake. Trying eating dietary frozen dinners which have around 300 calories per meal. Eat three solid meals a day and you will do good. Low calorie snacks are okay as well.
2. Exercise. This is what you need to do if you want to see moderately quick results. An hour of moderate cardio can burn 300+ calories.
3. Don't worry about losing fast, because you won't. Follow this and you are practically guaranteed to lose 8+ pounds in a month.

That is a very unhealthy way to try and loose weight. In fact it will screw up your metabolism and your body will start to store fat. I have just started out an online support blog for people going through overweight issues. Hopefully this turns out to be a great community. Blogs are open for comments.

I don't know of any websites, but if you don't eat for two days you can probably lose about three pounds, but be careful because you'll probobly gain it back quickly.
