Micro Chipping dogs!?

Question

Has any one else been following the story about dogs and cats that are micro chipped have a greater risk for cancer and that the FDA was mislead when information was put out by the mirco chip manufactures!! I needed more information. Dose anyone have any??

Yeah I tend to agree with you but for safty sack of my pet i really would like more information I have tried to look on the net and found nothing. I heard half the story on the radio this morning but have never heard the whole thing

Yes I do agree with all of you. I have all our animals micro chipped and My male that pased away 2 years ago was 15 and died of old age. Thank you for the link. I know it all seemed a little out there to me too but you never know until you ask. Thank you for the information

They aren't talking about the pet chips, its human chips that were tested on lab animals.

Remember a lab setting is not the same as real life and also it is pretty stupid testing something on an animal that 1) has a very short life span 2) is very prone to cancer to begin with.

Also compare the huge number of pets over the years that have been microchipped to the select few that it has claimed to cause cancer.

It is wise to take al lsuch things with a grain of salt.

They said that they found that some chips made mice and rats at higher risk for cancer, but there is no known cases of cancer in dogs.

I mean, look at the size difference. Putting one of those chips in a mouse is like implanting a softball between your shoulder blades. Of course there's going to be adverse reactions.

This is such a crock! Have you noticed that everything gives you cancer these days. Humans and animals alike. Remember when cell phones would give you a brain tumor. Personally, I think it is bull!
