And before that, the Jews thought the Christians were the fruitcakes! Never mind that the Hebrews seemed like a bunch of nuts to the various pagan religions in the region. Isn't this just harsh judgement based on the fact that this religion is newer? Noone has any grounds to claim any other religion is "wrong" or "decieved", so why continue to do so?

by way of fact Jesus isn't the Jewish messiah. The Jews will understand the messiah while he fulfills the messianic prophecies-- rebuilding the temple, returning each and all the Jews to Israel, putting an end to issues like conflict and dying. no person did that, the messiah did no longer come. The Jews don't think the messiah is saving human beings from hell; Jews don't think in hell, or fallen angels. additionally they don't have self belief the messiah may well be God-- in Judaism no person can be born God and God won't be able to be born human. issues approximately virgin births & resurrections-- that become by no skill Jewish messianic prophecies in any respect. those are misinterpretations of Jewish ideals. So now which you realize why Jesus become no longer the Jewish messiah, why do no longer you drop that salvation stuff and accept as true with the Jews that the messiah hasn't come (pondering you're so gung-ho for contract).

I would only suggest that you do a little research into the story behind Joseph Smith's "revelation" experience. This may cause you to ask a few questions yourself.

As to "right" or "wrong," I think we can all agree that there is absolute truth. The fact that we can't seem to agree on what that absolute truth is does not change the fact that there is an absolute truth. I think many "arguments" are the manifestation of the search for this absolute truth. The real question that everyone should ask themselves is what do I accept as the truth in my life, and what do I base this on?

I am a devout Christ follower, yet I encourage all believers to challenge the basis of their faith in order to make it their own and form a solid foundation for that faith. How can anyone possibly claim ANY theology as their own if they lack at least a basic understanding of their faith.

im not even christian and i think LDS is an even bigger crock of $hit than christianity. The book of mormon was written by joseph smith as his personal religion to fit his personal needs and desires, hello polygamy? polygamy is expressly forbidden in the bible, yet suddenly a religion with similar claims arises and its ok? All religions are stupid, LDS however, is among the most retarted of them all.

edit:
Smith claims the plates were in Reformed Egyptian characters, written by Mormon, a Nephite general and buried in Palmyra, New York. There is no evidence of this language through any history. ( In Mormon 9:32, 34, it states that the language was "reformed Egyptian" and that no other people knew their language.)

1 Ne. 1:2, etc., states that Hebrews who left Jerusalem and came to the Americas spoke Egyptian. It is a known fact that Hebrews spoke Hebrew, and their records were kept in Hebrew. Egyptians were their enemies. It is as absurd to think that Hebrews would have written their sacred history in Egyptian as to think that American History would have been written in Russian.

Wheat, barley, olives, etc., are mentioned, but none of these were in the Americas at that time

Ne. 20:16 and 21:12 talk about lions as "beasts of the forests." Lions do not live in forests or jungles, and they never lived in the Americas. No silk and wool clothing (nor moths) existed, as 1 Ne. 13:7; Alma 4:6; Ether 9:17 and 10:24 indicate, at that time either. Butter is also mentioned, but it could not possibly exist, since no milk-producing animals were found in the Americas at that time

Adam was made from the dust of an earth, but not the dust of this earth. Brigham Young, (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p. 319).

Adam’s body was created from the dust of the ground, that is, from the dust of this ground, this earth. Joseph Fielding Smith, (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1, p. 90).

“Negroes in this life are denied the priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty. ... The present status of the ***** rests purely and simply on the foundation of pre-existence. ... The negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from." Mormon Doctrine (1958 ed.), pp. 476-477 (1972)

People insult all the different religions (people call mine legalist all the time, but that doesn't describe it) "/ People just don't show the Christlike character that they should, we're all imperfect, and people will make fun of anyone else to make themselves feel better (often said, often true). I have LDS family, and I might not understand all they do or all they believe, but that's no reason to make fun of anything.

All of these groups are wrong, the God of Moses is Satan.
John 1:17, John 3:14, John 4:20-23, John 6:32, John 10:8, Luke 4:6 and 4:9, and Revelation 13:10-18.

This is why we kill each other and the name of God.

Insult??
If I point out that you have been deceived then I am not insulting you but trying to show or teach you about an error in your belief.
If I don't care about you then I will say nothing, but if I care I will bring the problem up.
Mormons are not a bunch of nuts, they have just been taught things that are not true. I know some very nice Mormon people, but their beliefs are wrong and since they don't want to change, I don't argue with them but we know where each other stands, and I pray for them.

LDS and Islam are actually identical in the sense that their books are pretty much selected proverbs, stories, and passages from Jewish and Christian traditions and texts. Also, lets not forget that both Smith and Mohammad obtained their books when god spoke to them exclusively, in one way or another.

LDS are not Christians, they don't believe in the same God as Christians. They think that Jesus can't live in them, the Bible says:

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

Christians have a personal relationship with Jesus himself. Don't believe it? Ask a Christian for their testimony. Why should you believe it? The Bible is 90 % prophecy. and 90% of that prophecy has been fulfilled and accurate. In fact so much of it that it is a statistical impossibility.

Because LDS was based on a modern-day liar who wanted to control people by USING the older liar book AND his own. Reading from plates inside a sack, indeed. And the whole Jesus was from North America bunk? Whooowhee. It's takes a special kind of person to believe that.

Because Jesus said, if any man teaches any other religion other than the gospel of Christ, let him be accursed. John Smith taught another gospel and he was a false prophet.
Muhammad spoke with the devil and not Gabriel, because Muhammad taught a religion of death and not a religion of life.

Jesus is life and love.
