At least we wouldn't have to burn in Hell for not believing that way.

As someone who majored in psychology who was subjected to the whole "free will versus determinism" debate, I decided long ago that you have no way of knowing whether free will is real, so stop fretting about it.

As for "not burning in Hell for not believing that way," you obviously haven't heard of some of the Calvinist faiths that believe in predestination--a belief that St. Augustine of Hippo apparently also had in his later days. Basically, puppet or not puppet, you're doomed to hell or destined for heaven from birth, but you have to behave yourself anyway because you don't know into which category you fall. On the good side: some Calvinists promoted "trial marriages" so you could see whether the relationship would work out, including sexually.

A puppet doesn't have any feelings or emotions, in any way. Puppets aren't living things, they are just made objects. No, they can not care, for they are not alive and are much of a help.

I would counter that the puppet wouldn't care about going to hell either. The two go together. Loving and being loved require free will. So does hating and being hated. Good and evil both require free will. The lack of existence of one necessarily means the lack of existence of the other. In heaven one is free from the presence of sin, bt that does not eliminate its existence, merely its subjective experience to you.

A puppet has no emotions, therefore it knows no purpose or is meaningless. Man was created by God, for God, and in the image of God. He has a divine purpose for your life. There's something that you can do better than me or anyone else born before or after you. But if you never open your heart and trust the Lord, your life is no better than that puppets, meaningless, no purpose, a complete waste. Don't you desire more??

God is all powerful. God COULD HAVE created us without the option to disbelieve in him. We could have been created with free will otherwise. If God is all powerful, he COULD HAVE done that.

But he didn't.

He prefers that many many more of us, in our stupidity, condemn ourselves to Hell. Because apparently WE know what's best for us. If God knew what was best for us, he'd ensure that we'd acheive the "best" end just as a parent limits their children in such a way that the child is spared painful consequences for potentially bad decisions.

But God doesn't know what's best for us. He thinks WE know what's best for us... hence, he lets us make up our own minds about him when, in the long run, that's the only decision that really matters.

Pull the string and I'll wink at you, I'm your puppet
I'll do funny things if you want me to, I'm your puppet

I'll be yours to have and to hold
Darling you've got full control of your puppet

A puppet does not have a mind or emotions either. Assuming you mean not having free will would include not having these attributes.

i don't think it would matter to us if we were puppets.
in reality, i actually wish god made us worship him (if he really exists). i'd love to know the truth so i could stop worrying about what's right and wrong. free will just keeps it open for being proven wrong.

I like puppets. I do not like ventriloquists. But I sure like puppets.

twilight zone.\
excellent job!
so, what you are saying is that people will burn in hell no matter what?
So then, wy are you posting anything? If there is no free will, no amount of persuasion will change it. And if you are here in an attempt to subvert 'freewill' then you are in fact taking the side of Satan, right?
You can not have it both ways, either preaching the good news will change people, or there is no freewill, in which case, publicly proclaiming the Christ is a contradiction to the assumption that we are all predestined to end up where we do.

Try thinking, as we were created in God's image, the truth should actually make sense!
