The double slanted 88 will look cool.

This picture is the JRM Navy Chevy.....Jr already has the double slant 88 patent.

Selling the 88 prolly gave Yates enough to help him retire. The team is changing drivers so this isn't taking it from anyone. The 28 has lots more tradition to RYR than the 88 because Jarret left on less than perfect terms. He was denied the 88 when he asked to keep it when he left. (Yes contrary to all the bull you have read here many drivers have asked to take their numbers with them over the years and some actually got to do it)

Yes, it's going to be 88. Official announcement tomorrow, 9/19/07.

The number will not be the 88. The 88 is now be used by Ricky Rudd for Robert Yates racing. Next year Travis Kvapil will be in the 88. Dale Jr. will be driving the 81, as it has been reported for many weeks now.

Maybe they talked the other team out of the 88, with the crazy things that have been going on this yr anything is possible I guess.. I'd rather wait till the offical announcement from dale jr/hms on 9-19, maybe all this will make them announce it sooner, god I hope so..

It would be nice if he is going to be in the #88 next year but we will have to see. I keep hearing it is going to be the #81 and then i hear it is the #88. I am not going to get my hopes up until i hear it when it is announced!!!!

The entire world is on pins and needles awaiting the official announcement of JR's new number. I am considering a hunger strike until the time the world will go back to normal.

Ok people. You can cheer all you want for the number being 88, it is still a rumor until the official Press Conference.

Or are we going to post about this topic, every 3rd or 6th post till next Friday?

No I didn't know - is this a joke?

That would be cool. Dale Jr always had respect for Dale Jarrett. That would be an awesome number.
