In the sense that a Christian follows Jesus' example of only worshiping the Father, whose name is Jehovah. Yes Daniel could be called a Christian.

the term "Christian" had not come about yet. But Daniel DID talk to and hear from God. God revealed to Daniel mysteries and Daniel was a man of grave integrity and bravery.

No. There were no Christians in Daniels day since Jesus Christ had not come to earth and established Christianity yet.

Christan was not around then but he believed in the true god who provided for him in a time of need. Daniel went on to prophesy the end times prophesy that is in revelation, if you read Daniel he goes in to detail about the invasion and gives times like the 7 year period.

Is this some argument you're trying to set up so you can tear it down and prove the Bible is false?
Daniel can't be a Christian because Christ hadn't been born back then, but there is speculation that Jesus was one of the people who appeared with him in the fire.

Daniel was righteous in the eyes of God. He walked in the ways of the Lord. God loved him very much.
Yet, he was not a born again saint and as one said above in reply to your question, he could not be until Jesus lived his life without sin, and was put to death. And because he was without sin, Jesus defeated the hold death had on all mankind.
So Daniel, who died prior to Jesus was still held in the place known as death and hell, but not in the part of hell that was for the unrighteous. He was held in the place known as the bosom of Abraham.
Though men lived a righteous life prior to Jesus, they could not escape the hold of death until Jesus defeated it. The righteous were deemed righteous by the heart, but they lacked one thing. They had to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. This could not happen until after the fact. Once Jesus died, he went into the lower parts and set the righteous dead free. Now all who believe in Jesus don't go to that place known as death and hell, but go to be with Jesus to await the day of resurrection when their souls will be put into their earthly bodies that sleep in the earth, but will be changed from corruptible to incorruptible. Praise God.
As for Daniel in the Lions Den and also when he was cast into the furnace of fire, God saved him because Daniel believed every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
Jesus said that if we had the faith of a mustard seed, we could move mountains.
