Believers and non-believers alike, why don't you just read it for yourself??? I'm not being mean here, but why ask in this silly forum from people you don't know and will never meet, all the answers are in the Bible, so what is stopping you from finding them there???

The Bible was written by a host of half literate story tellers. It's self contradictory and incoherent. I think this is exactly why so many people (including many Christians) debate it's meaning with non-believers and Christians alike.

Take Isaiah 45:7 for example. God clearly states in this verse that he created evil (or calamity, or disaster, or woe depending on which version you read). Since this declaration obviously contradicts the notion of a benevolent god, how would you or anyone else explain it (I've heard many an attempt)?

The Bible offers far more questions than answers.

It is good (and Necessary too, if you want to go High in the Spiritual Realm with GOD) to Read the Bible for yourself and let the Holy Spirit Teach you things.

But, people Learn at Different Rates, we don't Really Need to Ask Others (or buy Teaching CD's) to Learn, but we will Learn QUICKER if we ask or study GOD's Teachers CD's.

What might Take a person 10 years to Learn on his,her own--- IF they buy a CD, they could Learn in a couple of Hours.

Why do you think we have churches, with preachers and teachers? There is never anything wrong with asking questions. That's wisdom. If what you are saying were true there would be no need for churches or ministries of any kind and God would have said, "Well I guess now that they have my Word it's up to everyone to go to the Bible and all the answers are there," but he didn't. He has set up a church system where we go and learn of Him. I'm not saying that we shouldn't do our own devotions and study. I'm just saying that there is definitely nothing wrong with getting counsel or asking questions. God bless!!

Well, it turns out that ALL of the answers are NOT in the bible. In fact, many of the answers in there are flat out wrong (although, there are some good answers in there, too). You should try reading some other books to learn this for yourself. Only a fool seeks information from only one source.

I have read the bible, many different versions of it, many times. I've also read what other bible scholars have written about the bible. The more I read, the more knowledge I gain and the more I question god's existence.

Sure, all the answers are right in the Bible. Just read it for yourself, figure out what you think it means, and voila! Another denomination is born! Another fracture in Christianity. Another violation of the stated will of God, "that they all may be one". Isn't it apparent after 500 years of continuous fragmentation, confusion and doctrinal chaos that the unbiblical manmade tradition of sola scriptura as a means of finding the truth simply DOESN'T WORK?

I've read the Bible, cover to cover, several times trying to find SOMETHING in it and have yet to have ONE SINGLE question of mine answered by it. I'm left wondering more and more about the sanity of people who read the Bible and find hope, comfort, or anything else of value in it. Your god kills children and yet christians won't let a raped child have an abortion. Personally, I think that ANY religious belieft is a manifestation of mental illness.

God's OK On Abortion

"And when he hath made her drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed." (Numbers 5:27-28)
Comment

This nonsensical ritual, prescribed by God, to a woman suspected of infidelity, must undergo the drinking of a vile concoction made of bitter water and dust from the floor of a tabernacle. A priest calls a curse upon the woman's head to insure that if she has acted in adultery the drinking of the liquid will cause her to have a miscarriage. If she comes out clean, then she shall conceive.

Regardless of how ridiculous this procedure seems, any person who believes every word of the Bible must come to terms with the realization that the quoted God here sometimes authorizes abortion.

Maybe because someone would like to have one than one view on the matter in order to help them understand for themselves...? There's nothing like a good debate to help one re-think their own views on something and perhaps deepen their understanding.

Which version of the Holy Bible? Seems that someone is constantly editing the answer in it.

Because the bible is a lie. Why don't you Christians get it? Just read the book Misquoting Jesus. It is ABSOLUTE proof that a vast majority of the modern bible has been falsified and made up by translators and scribes over 2000 years. In other words...its all made up folks!
