I say no to both. If the Dream Act in passed it would not only try up the limited fund for financial aid, but even if it is a one time deal, just look to the amnesty of 1986 that was also supposed to be a one time deal. It would only encourage more to not only bring their own children but those of their families and friends

It would also allow their parents and other family members to piggyback on their amnesty

And all that is required to be approved is a sworn statement from the illegal alien

It would also allow a 45 year old man to come in, admit he is illegal and claim he came here when he was 15. We would have to prove he is lying. And the admittance that he broke our immigration laws could not be used against him. They also would be allowed in-state tuition while our children have to pay out of state.

The dream act is a dream for illegals and a nightmare for taxpayers and legal immigrants.

A true Dream Act would be to institute a program where all children of citizens could receive higher education.
The children of illegal aliens should not be granted any benefits from their parent's illegality. It is the fault of their parent's for involving them, not the taxpayers of the US.
The needs of Americans must be placed above those of illegal aliens, period.

The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act, is part of the stalled package of proposals that many in Congress are seeking to resurrect. The proposal, applicable to an estimated 750,000 undocumented residents of military age, stipulates that those who arrived in the United States before age 16, graduated from high school, and meet other qualifications could immediately enter the path to citizenship in exchange for at least two years' service in the armed forces.

Ron Paul has stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.

Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Hunter have the most conservative voting records on immigration.

Of these three, Ron Paul has the best chance of winning the Primary election.
Paul's campaign has almost 4 times as much money to spend as Tancredo.

To Petey v3.3

The truth of the matter is that if we allow the children of become citizens, the parents will soon become citizens too. Once the children are citizens then you’ll hear how terrible it is that the parents are forced to go back to their own country leaving their children behind, sniff, sniff, sob, sob. So we really need to let the parents stay, etc. Or the children will sponsor their parents.

“Please tell me if you lived here in this country for the majority of your life not knowing anything about your old country how would you feel?

I’d feel like my PARENTS let me down. How dare they commit felons, and continue to commit felonies while living illegally in this country. How could I respect them? How may people did they steal identity’s from? I would feel like my parents victimized ME! Because of their actions, my life is going to be turned upside down.

“You have absolutely no appreciation for life if you are against this.”

I’m against this and I appreciated life, and the LAWS of this country. But maybe you don’t care for LAWS. You know the little things the punish people who, rape, steal, murder, who enter countries illegally, etc.

So to come to me and say I know I broke the law, I know I took advantage of the schools, hospitals, etc, and that it cost the federal government 10 BILLION dollars to keep us here, but you should really let my illegal alien children become citizen, is the SAME as saying I’m a rapist and I’ve been doing it a long time so you have to let me keep doing it and not punish me!

To say the children are innocent is nice. Did they have a choice, not really, by we don’t reward criminals. Let’s say I stole a car and gave it to my son so does he gets to keep it? No. But he needs it to go to work, it would be heartless to take his car from him, after all it’s not his fault. The best thing my son could hope for was not to be sent to jail, if he didn’t know the car was stolen. The best thing the illegal alien children could hope for is not to have this show up on their record so the could enter the country LEGALLY, and become citizens legally.

Let the parents explain to their children that they broke the law and that they are responsible for this mess. Oh wait, that would mean we would hold people responsible for their actions, and we can’t have that can we?

EDIT

You assume that the parent have NEVER been caught and deported or order to leave, once that happen and they either stay in the country or leave the come back illegally then it is a felony.

The parents are and continue to commit felonies by letting their illegally alien children stay with them. It’s call harboring.

It is a felony to harbor illegal aliens; you know have people who you know are here illegally living with you or you are providing a place for them to live. That would mean that the parents, who know their children are here illegally, are in fact harboring illegal aliens. Even if the children don’t know they are here illegally.

Put the thumbs down right now if you want to see something that disagrees from your bigotry...******* coward

Bob...its called school records...a diploma, you had to be in school for 5 years and earn a diploma to qualify

The pentagon has made it clear they need recruits and the military option would allow kids who graduated high school here have a chance to join and earn their citizenship...you have to either get a bachelors degree or have a honorable discharge to qualify for citizenship...this all has to be done within a 5 year period after graduation

Why is it you guys never give the true details? You always spin it...

Please tell me if you lived here in this country for the majority of your life not knowing anything about your old country how would you feel? You have absolutely no appreciation for life if you are against this.
