If you passed a road test and have the Junior License in New York City, can you drive alone?

I heard that you can between the hours of 5am-9pm, and that you cannot have people under 21 unless they are your immediate family, is that true?

You are correct. The only times you are allowed to drive before 5am or after 9pm is if it is work-related or a school-sanctioned event.

The others under 21 thing I'm not sure about. That *should* be the law if it isn't already. Teens get a little too crazy when there's others in the car. (I know. I used to be one of them.) Besides - if you have a friend in the car, you are responsible for someone else's kid.

The law here that was you had to wait 6 months after getting your Leaner's before you could take your road test. He would need to book a road test through your local DMV with an instructor. I know the restrictions here are that you can't drive between 12:00 am and 6:00 am, and you can't drive out of province (Canada) It's probably similar in your area, but your local DMV should be able to answer any questions you have.

You better call the DMV. It used to be that you were only allowed to drive to work and home. The law, however, could have changed.
