My dad and I have drifted apart dramatically since he started dating his new girlfriend. I have not seen him since Christmas and have not talked to him in over 2 months. My mom says I should have a song just in case, but I honestly do not want to see his face. So....it the spirit of keeping things cool, what song would be best for a dance I want over as soon as possible, that's fun (so I can actually enjoy myself), and has nothing to do with a father's love, inspiration, or other crap.

Okay....this is recent as of two years ago since he started dating his new gf. Also he helped me pay for my dress. That's it. Even though he told me in December to plan the wedding of my dreams and he would pay for everything. By April when I started to see things getting fishy, I began to back down on scale. So now its just my mom and I paying. My fiance's parents are paying for the Rehearsal dinner.

Well his phone is disconnected and he has moved to New Orleans. Guess that solves that. I was reaching out to my dad for the past few months. Trying to involve him, trying to make things better. But that girlfriend is a real she-devil. She hates me completely even though I have never done anything to her. So I see who wears the pants in that relationship. My mom was just hoping that my dad would come around and contribute for the wedding like he said. Instead now my mom is getting this loan to finish paying for the reception.

There is no law that states you absolutely must have a father/daughter dance at your wedding reception. However, if you choose to do one and want to avoid any sort of sentimentality, you could do an upbeat instrumental piece. Something along the lines of 'Walk, Don't Run' by the Ventures should be familiar to your father and not too hard to dance to.
Or you could choose one of those ridiculously happy, corny songs from 'The Brady Bunch'. Yes, I know it's before your time (and mine), but everyone's seen at least a few reruns. Plus, everyone else would just think you're being funny and cute and they wouldn't think it was a statement about your relationship with your father.
You might also ask your mom about what sort of popular music she and your dad used to listen to and get some ideas from there.

Obviously pick something fun and upbeat. Perhaps tie it into his interests, like my stepdads name is Floyd so a Pink Floyd song would be appropriate. Most rock type songs like that are pretty short. Perhaps "Sweet Child of Mine"....it's not sappy
I would do the dance. This tiff with your dad is pretty recent and when the ***** is gone and you two are close again you don't want to regret not dancing with him. Even if he's been messing up lately you are still his daughter and he raised you so IMO you can give him 3 minutes of your time (specially if he helped pay for the thing)

You really do not have to have the father/daughter dance if you do not want to.
Some suggestions of fun upbeat songs:
Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder
What I Like About You - Romantics
The Twist - Chubby Checker
Conga - Miami Sound Machine
Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison (Or Van Halen)
Chantilly Lace - Big Bopper
Some Kind Of Wonderful - Grand Funk Railroad
Just have your DJ cut the song a little short, they should be able to fade it out. Good luck!

Sounds like you just have a case of the narsty stubborns. Your mom has her head on straight, and she is telling you the decent thing.
If you and your dad agree no dance, then you don't really have to have one. But if he would like to, I understand that you would not want a sappy tear-jerker as a song. I hate those anyway.
Something upbeat and fast, and not with any sentimental meaning, like "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder.

There's no need to have a father/daughter dance if you don't want to. My best friend had a first dance with her new husband but then opened the floor to everyone. Her dad was there but she doesn't get along with him really well. If you aren't comfortable with it, don't do it.

"Plop Plop, Fizz Fizz", the old Alka-Seltzer commericial is a good one. Gets the point across and is nice and short.
(plus it's really hard to dance to)
Seriously though, make up with Dad.
