There's a potluck in a couple hours for everyone living in San Diego that's going to the same college in LA. None of my friends can really go...and it's really awkward meeting new people for me, especially when I'm alone. I know I should probably go though, to practice my social skills lol. I don't know...should I go even though I'll be a total loner?

You might even meet someone you know, if everyone is from the same place. Sometimes feeling awkward in public can fade over time- besides it's good job experience to do things that you don't really want to do once in a while. It builds character, lol.

well, probably no one is going to know anyone, right? That's kind of the point is to meet people? I'm really bad at meeting people, too, so I go to everything I can just because it takes me so long to actually connect with people that I need twice as much time as most other people.

I'd say go. You can always leave, and it'll be good to meet people if you're going to the same school.

Go go go! Stuff like that is important, trust me. I went to college and always hated going to that stuff. One year I finally went it was the best thing I could have done. Everyone there is new, so everybody is really meeting each other for the first time and getting to know one another.

Go. Almost everyone there will be a total loner. Talk to strangers and make new friends.

I think that you should go. You never know you might meet some good friends. If you arent having fun then you can always leave.

Of course you should go! Be relaxed, once you start it isn't that hard to talk to new people just don't let that first few akward munutes overwhelm you.
