Hi there, i am 20 and my boyfriend is 36, with three kids aged 10, 12 and 14.
I stay home and work part-time with him,and he works full time as a journeyman- installing floors.
We recently took a vacation to six flags, which is in Valencia, California and we fell in love with the area and are thinking of moving there.
He is canadian, as am i, but i have dual citizenship within the U.S
What would we have to do to be able to move there legally?

There is an application procedure you need to g o through to get him his green card. See http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=0775667706f7d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=4f719c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

The good news is that as a spouse there is not a waiting period, you don't have to wait for a visa number to become available.

By the way, the US does not reconize dual citizenship. I would avoid discussion of that claim on any of the forms.

I am sorry no one above could figure out how to answer your question and decided instead to bash your choice.

Well, you had better bring a crap load of money with you because Valencia is a really expensive place to live.Research rent and home prices in the neighbourhoods that are least likely to have drive bys. You will not have health care unless you pay for it. Look into rates. Blue Shield is about the cheapest you will get but the quality of health care providers are suspect. Also look at violent crime statistics . Remember, most people have guns and Valencia is a big gang area. The schools your kids will go to will most likely have armed guards and metal detectors so prepare them for that. Someone will have to get a job offer. That will be your easiest way in. Contact the US Immigration website. They should have step by step instructions. But if you have to talk to someone be prepared for rudeness like you have never experienced.

As a native Californian I have to ask you in the politest way possible ARE YOU NUTS ? California has been slowly spiraling down the toilet since the 80's. Housing is over priced in most areas and there are already way to many people here.
If you are serious about moving here be prepared to have some money in the bank, learn spanish (I know it sucks) and learn to hate all the idiot city dwellers and drivers.

Yeah, I agree with the previous guy. You should listen to the news on what's going on here. You should also check out what kind of health insurance your kids would get and how much per month because it costs a lot in here. I am Canadian citizen and my husband is US citizen... and he cannot wait to get out of this country... no offense to the Americans.
