You probably can't find one because there's no such thing as a "Teacup" anything!

Any small dog can be a teacup as long as it doesn't weigh more than 4lbs. However, you can not guarantee that any dog will definitely be a teacup. It's just hopeful. My sister had a miniature poodle. That is the breed. Because it was under 4lbs, it was a teacup, that is NOT a breed, just a description. Your friend's parents bought a small dachshund that probably had small parents because breeders try to breed the smallest so that, hopefully, the puppy will not be big and can be categorized as a teacup. And then they can call it a teacup. A teacup is a description only. If that puppy grows up to be over 4lbs, then it won't be a teacup. If the breed goes over 4lbs to around 8-10 lbs it can be considered a miniature. Again, a description. The breed is dachshund, and they should not have paid any more for their puppy than any other dog of that breed. If they did, they've been had! LOL!

"Teacup" is a fancy name slapped onto tiny, tiny puppies by horrible and irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy mills. You do NOT want to support a business like that. Try looking for a reputable Dachshund breeder on http://www.akc.org , http://www.dachshund-dca.org , or even try a Dachshund in a shelter at http://www.petfinder.com Any person who advertises their puppies as "teacup", "micro", "pocket", etc. have no business in breeding and certainly should not be the people you're purchasing a lifetime companion from. Often times, these puppies that come from pet shops, backyard breeders, and puppy mills are very sickly and can cause huge vet bills within the first few weeks at their new home. In some cases, the puppies die. Please be responsible and educate yourself on these so-called "teacups" and the horrible places they come from. You should be looking for a reputable and responsible breeder of Dachshunds, not an irresponsible backyard breeder who will sell you the runt of the litter for big bucks. A lot of people get suckered into purchasing these "teacups" for thousands of dollars, when they don't even realize that it's not a real breed, nor is it ethical to be breeding runts of the litter to try and create smaller and smaller breeds.

There is no such thing as a ' Teacup ' anything.. They are a dog that puppymills and backyard breeders produce to sell to people who want a tiny dog. What people don't realize is they might get a tiny dog, but he will be sick with many health issues. He might not even stay tiny, he might grow to be full size.. They cannot guarantee that the dog will stay small.. Don't support puppymills and backyard breeders .. Buy a real dog that isn't going to have those size related health issues.

A word of caution about buying anything listed as "teacup" or "tiny toy" etc:
People often breed to get tinier breeds and along with the tinier size comes a greater risk of health problems, some serious. Not only that, but some of those "teacup" versions (not a breed!) end up being bigger when they finish growing in height. I'd avoid anything "teacup".

You may not want to hear this, but there is no such thing as a "teacup" variety of any breed. "Teacup" is a fancy way unscrupulous breeders advertise the runts of their litters. These dogs end up having far more health issues than dogs of a normal size. Dachshunds are small enough. Please rescue one, or get a healthy, normal sized one from a reputable breeder.

somebody who wanted to make more money started this mini and teacup and tiny crap.
its not your fault and everyone is having a go at you, but a lot of people out there really think that dachsunds, chihuahua;s yorkshire terriers and a few others come in different "sizes" they dont.
there is a breed standard which the dogs have to conform to, if they are larger or smaller than the standard then they usually have inferior breeding and would not be welcome in the show ring, which is usually why the breeders sell them off as teacups etc.

You shouldn't be so concerned with buying a teacup anything. Rescue a dog from a shelter even if they won't fit into your purse.
