They can't get poison Ivy but they can carry the oil on their fur.

Yes...animals can get poison ivy. If you have a dog that you suspect has poison ivy, I would take him to a vet to make sure that he hasn't gotten it in his mouth, ears, or other tender areas.

Yes they can, but what usually happens is that their coat will protect them from getting it, however, they'll still carry the oils on the surface, then they'll come in the house, spread the oil everywhere and you'll end up getting it.

I guess if the poison gets on their skin, however, the fur usually keeps it from getting to the skin.

yes my friends dog did and it couldn't be treated as it was on teh nose wo if you put anything on it teh dog licked it right off. it was a black laba dn it 's nose was all pink with teh poison ivy

I was told dogs can't get it but if they run through it and brush against you then you can get it. I have never gotten it and i have walked through it with my dog (not realizing it was there)
