That question HAS been worn out, but it does bring up a point that many christians don't seem aware, which is that crucifixion was the common means of execution at the time.

If you love someone enough I suppose they would. But it would probably be more in the line of photographs in this day and age.
Do you have photographs of anyone you like. Or do you put nooses around their necks and syringes in their arms?

I don't think so. I think they adopted the cross, not just because their messiah was crucified on one, but because it is a simple, yet evocative design. Syringes might work, nooses too, but I don't think little chairs would catch on.

Good point. I think too often the cross becomes a religious symbol, and Christians forget the true meaning . . . that it's an instrument of death we are all called to bear.
