There is as much 'duty free' on a plane as on a ferry between EU countries. (I am not sure whether you pay duty on the goods or not, but the prices and items are comparable on both.)
Only due to the nature of planes they do not have as much liquor and cigarettes, as they do take a lot of space.

Some airlines may have stopped offering 'duty free' but the ones I have been on recently did still sell.

The cigarettes you purchase on a ferry to France are no longer "accountability unfastened", they have been presented in France at their tax fee, that's below ours. Any products bought interior of an ecu usa (extra or much less) could be taken to a various eu state without further accountability.
