Brother Dave,

A good clue is in what Jesus told his brothers when he explained why he could not go openly to a feast in Jerusalem (as recorded in John 7):

When the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Jesus' brothers said to him, "You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world." For even his own brothers did not believe in him.

Therefore Jesus told them, "The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil. You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come." Having said this, he stayed in Galilee.

Atheists are drawn to the superficial attractions of sins, unmindful of their longterm repercussions in human misery. What they hate most is when Christians point out actions that hurt other people and injure or destroy their relationship with God.

Atheists think Christian perspectives on restricting sex to marriage and protecting human life restrict their freedom. Thus, they accuse Christians of being judgmental, imposing their private moral code, and legislating morality.

Of course, pointing out right and wrong is not the same as judgment (since no individual verdict is reached), and no one can impose a moral code or legislate morality simply by speaking out. In a democracy, laws are made by representatives of the majority of the people.

Cheers,
Bruce

Why the lies? No one hates Christianity, god or Jesus but BAD Christians that post like you do are the reason Christianity suffers so! Anti atheism is doing so much damage to Christianity that it is in reality anti Christianity – David Manley It takes in reality only one to make a quarrel. It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, while the wolf remains of a different opinion. - William Ralph Inge. Why so blind to what causes the backlash against christianity? ALL the other religions and atheists live in peace and are ONLY attacked by BAD christians which causes all GOOD christians to despair at the damage they do! Up until about 40 years back Christianity was thriving and there was no conflict with others but in just those few short years the modern christians have become intolerant, hate filled, bigoted and persecuting resulting in a growing backlash against christianity and causing christianity to loose over ten percent in less than a decade with the loss accelerating! The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only thing that can stop it is to abandon the terrible human emotions, seek to rediscover the idea of a loving god and act like it! Posts like yours that drive people further away from God are driving you towards hell. So who are you working for the devil or the antichrist because it sure ain't the loving god!

While I have a personal relationship with God, I don't like it when someone brand new to being a Christian wants to tell me how to be a Christian, and my way is wrong, when I've been trying to live my belief for over 30 some years, and they were just converted 3 months ago. Who do they think they are? Even my brother who had always been an atheist, did this. I had to ask him to stop, I've had a personal relationship with 'god for so many more years that most who want to shove their message down my throat. It's irritating.

I'm no atheist, but I can't deal with Christianity, much as I like Jesus.

My main beef is that Christians are rarely Christ-like (at least according to the accounts in the Bible). Truly Christ-like people are delightful.

But you rarely see them in church.

So I'd have to go with hypocrisy--they "follow" a leader without being like him. I know it's hard to be like Jesus...but if you love the guy that much, act like him!

And I've met very few people of any religion with an IQ higher than mine...so that's certainly not it...

christians that really don't know what they are talking about. The unintelligent that can't debate an issue without falling back on insults. As a religiously educated atheist, I love to discuss christianity with christians that have an IQ. I hate trying to explain christianity to christians that have never read the bible and don't understand their own religion.

I can't answer this one because I am not an Atheist. The few that I do know who say they are I really don't believe, so my answer to your question is that I don't think these poor souls know what they like or dislike. They are the rebels of our world who would rebel against anything or anyone. The lost souls!!

The only thing I hate about Christians is that they think I should think the same as they do. I find some of their beliefs a bit repellent, we agree on other things. But that ideology fascism is unforgivable.

I have no hatred, but I take exception to any group of people that tell me I must fear what I cannot see, trust in a story that is in fact fiction,And that I must repent,I ask myself for what.If there was a man sent to earth to wash away my sins then they are gone,I don't need to repent or give 10% to say I did.

The Bible. I'll never understand how someone can believe something from an ancient book that has been translated thousands of times, when there is no other proof about it.

a) The stupid gits who want to remove scientific curriculum from publicly funded schools and replace it with religious dogma.

b) Posturing politicians. I don't have a list, but they're the wastes-of-space who pledged the allegiance to the flag with the "Under God" clause, on the steps of the capitol building.
