Genealogy is fun! Not only does one get to trace his own ancestors, but learn about someone else's as well! I used google, and this is what I found out:
http://www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp.fc/qx/bloor-family-crest.htm
This website shows the family crest of the name Bloor (also Bloor, Blore, Bloare, Bloore, Blour, Bloure and others) and says it first appeared in Staffordshire where they held a family seat.
It also says that James Bloor landed in America in 1762.
It also says that the name Bloor is part of the ancient legacy of the Anglo-Saxon tribes in Britain and that the name derived when one of its members worked as a blower, or one who plays the horn.
Happy hunging!
