Well, Rita Hayworth pretty much paved the road for Hispanic American women to be able to become successful actresses.
I would say that both my Grandfathers who fought in the US Army (as well as their grandfathers did), and all of the Hispanics who have shed blood and given their lives for this country as they have in every conflict the US has ever had. What can be a greater contribution than them sacrificing all for my freedom, and many times while facing racism from some of the people of the country in which they fought for.
Oh, and let's not forget who the first cowboys were! Who would have known that the 'sombrero' could have become so popular. The Hispanics in the Southwest were the ones who taught the Anglos how to herd cattle and farm.
To LUVMYMEXICANHUSBAND: your answer deserves thumbs up 100x!

At one time the US Government had control over Hispanics and other people coming to the US. About 60 years ago the US Government had programs that had to be followed. You might say that time changes things, but the same thing that took place that long ago still is taking place now, but there is no control taking place now. Everyone coming into the States now feel they have every right to whatever they feel they need to live in the States..
The Hispanics can do alot of jobs that no one wants to perform, but no one is willing to set standards for everyone coming into the Untied States to follow or return to the country they came from.

I bet many of you are not aware that this is actually National Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanics have provided great contributions to the fabric of our country. They have served in our armed services, they have volunteered their time in great strengths to help out other Americans, and much more. Hispanics are very compassionate and caring people. If you think they have not contributed to this country, you are very misled.

Hispanic-Americans... that sounds so funny...
I reckon the "burrito".
Unlike lots of Mexicans and Americans believe, the burrito was created by "Hispanic-Americans"... that is Americans of Mexican ascendence (if I'm not mistaken it was in California). Hell yes it's my favorite of 'em all!!!
Now you can find them in any 7-Eleven and have a great snack at the middle of the nite!

!Hola I'm from Chicago and in my mis-spent youth I worked on labor gangs with many Chicano workers. Great people who taught me a lot of useful Spanish (besides the "bad" words!) I spent a lot of time with them and with their families. Great music, great food and a true love of family and friends. Overall the LEGAL Hispanic community has been a very positive addition to the melting pot of America.

My favorite contributions are the lessons taught to me by my family of Hispanics. All the help I have received from them. And accomplishments that some family members made from working for the S.F.P.D. to having a college degrees to being in the police academy to working for the airport to being in college to working at hospitals to attorneys to stay at home parents to contractors to loan officers to party entertainment to owning homes and so on.
And the food from all of Latin America.

My favorite of all contributions are that Hispanics have earned the most Congressional Medal of Honors than any other Ethic group in combat service to their country. Yet this accomplishment has not been acknowledge to the country by our government. Our fighting men and women have earned on the field of battle the rights all Americans enjoy in this country.
"A people without hero's is a people without pride" we have
the hero's and we have the Pride.
