Weeeeeelllll
Yeah.
Sorry Hestia!!! I really do love you. :P
On a serious note, yes they are equal and can hold thier own against each other I'm sure. But I am totally biased here.
edit: Yup we claim Beowulf.
edit: We have a flood of "blood" people.
VII. Then said Gangleri: "What covenant was between them, or which was the stronger?" And Hárr answered: "The sons of Borr slew Ymir the giant; lo, where he fell there gushed forth so much blood out of his wounds that with it they drowned all the race of the Rime-Giants, save that one, whom giants call Bergelmir, escaped with his household; he went upon his ship,[1] and his wife with him, and they were safe there. And from them are come the races of the Rime-Giants, as is said here:
Untold ages | ere earth was shapen,
Then was Bergelmir born;
That first I recall, | how the famous wise giant
On the deck of the ship was laid down."
Gylfaginning

The old gods died - all around the Mediterranean at around the same time, something mysterious happened, and people just quit believing. The Oracles in Greece and elsewhere which had been visited for centuries for advice just went out of business - were abandoned. The "prophecies" just quit coming - and so did the religious tourists. There's a great chapter on this in Will Durant's "Age of Faith" - you can get a cheap used copy from Amazon. It's a massive, good book about the end of the Romans times and the beginning of the christian times. Whatever happened to the old gods, nobody knows. They just quit appealing to people - quit answering the spiritual questions people had, quit being relevant - and Christianity became more and more attractive to people - for some reason. One day people will abandon christianity too and move on to some other religion - and christianity will become that "mythology" of the old times.

Well, let see, Zeus killed his father and all his brothers and sisters came out of the carcass (because the father ate most of them when they were babies so none of them would overpower him), so that's pretty cool. Zeus was pimpin' with both mortals and other divine creatures, they had cool punishments for people (think Tantalus, Sisyphus, Tityus, Prometheus, etc). And the Greeks pretty much kicked butt, the Romans even copied off them.
But on the other hand, you have Valhalla, which I hear is one helluva party.

Athena could kick Norse @ss by herself. Ares, Zeus, Apollo and Artemis (who smited a guy for looking at her wrong)... Greek pagan gods were cool.

I dunno.. after looking at Ragnarok, you'd have to say those Norse gods are pretty scary.
The Greek gods really just liked to party.. it didn't matter at who's expense ;)
