You have to start with the word itself. A fornicate is the arched entryway to a walled city. Funny how that came to mean something bad or evil. Fornicators were the people who hung out at the entrance to the cities. Travelling craftsmen who needed work but were not part of the local groups or unions. There were prostitutes there who were not part of the local brothels and then there were the Essenes who ran hospices for people who could not afford other medical care. Interesting that Jesus was an Essene and therefore a fornicator.

They can be two of the same thing but, not to the exact. You become a fornicator we you do the act but, once you forgiven God no longer sees you as that. If you are actively doing it, then you are not truly repenting and keep that title.
