Did he have to eat them since he killed them, or was it purely for sport?

Demons are not nice.
Raising pigs was a violation of the Jewish Law.
Jesus killed two birds with one stone.
But are you more concerned with the well being of the pigs than of the man from whom the legion of demons was cast out from?

According to all our smart christian friends, pigs were considered unclean so Jesus was actually doing something good by killing them all. So that means god makes unclean animals for the sole purpose of possessing them with demons and running them off a cliff???
Why doesn't he do that with us instead of sending us to hell??

A lesson was taught and learned that day from HIm to HIS Apostles and to those who kept the swine. The rocks could never have taught such a lesson and no one would have heard about it in the nearby town. Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend.

Rocks and Pigs exist. Jesus and demons did and do not. Only real beings can interact with the real world.

The pigs were unclean in the Jewish religion. They were going against their religion. Jesus removed the obstacle (pigs) from the Jews, in order for God to return to their lives. God bless.
