Yes, the skin is very thin there.

I had a friend get a tattoo there. She said it didn't hurt nearly as badly as the one near her ribs. I think it is fair to say it first depends on how much pain you can take. If you've had one before and it wasn't too bad for you then the ear one should be just fine also. Good Luck!

nah not really, unless you have an extremely low pain tolerance. it'll probably be more annoying and umcomfortable than painful and if you're getting a small tattoo it won't take much time. pain is part of getting a tatoo. you have to earn it and by that i mean you have to deal with the pain if you want it badly enough. as is the case with many things in life. don't listen to paintballer, he doesn't know what he's talking about. i have a corporate job and i run around the office with my tattoo visible and get nothing but compliments on it. i'd like to see him tell a Maori tribesman his tatoos look like trash.

That is ugly, why tattoo an ear? Ever hear of piercing? I could think of 10 better places for a tattoo on you.

yes that might hurt because it is on an area where your skin is thin and very close to the bone..but if you get a tattoo that is small like that, it won't hurt for very long.

i got a small tat on my ankle and it hurt like a *****, but it only took about a minute or 2 to do!

edit* oh i didn't read your whole question...the one on the EAR..i just looked at the one on the ankle...
yeah i would think a cartilidge tat would HURT!

I think it would hurt. I have my ear pirced twice in that area and it hurt. Getting a tattoo hurts anywere you get it, just some parts of the body are less painful than others

I've got one on my ankle I actually started laughing ( I'm very ticklesh) the vibration of the needle was crzy felt it all the way to my toes. I think it mainly matters what your threshold for pain is my neice can barely stand the pain but wouldn't give up her tattoos for anything.

I'm sure it would hurt, just like it hurts piercing the top part of the ear... but the ear has a lot of cartilidge So it prob wouldn't be so bad.

Think of getting your cartiledge pierced, but over and over again. If you don't think you can stand that, then I wouldn't get the tattoo. If you don't mknbow what it's like to have your cartiledge pierced, I would say go out and do it one one ear and see if you can stand it. Good luck.

get the one on your ankle, but when you get it make sure that your artist knows what hes doing or shes doing. as long as you keep your feet clean and your toes painted it should look good on you. when mine was done at 20 it was right their and it didn't hurt at all.
