The allergy might be to chicken. Those are both chicken based foods. Innova is actually a great food - I would recommend California Naturals. It is made by the same company that makes Innova. It is said to be the best food for dogs with allergies because it has the least amount of ingredients than any other dog foods. I believe it only has 6 ingredients. I would try the lamb based California Naturals food and see how she does on that.

Yes it is fine, I'd try California Natural instead - it is formulated for pets with food allergies. I am currently feeding my pup Innova and might switch over to California Natural or a raw diet. If you are having no problems with Innova why are switching - if you aren't then I consider keeping the food - it is a very good nutritious dry food. You might also want to consider EVO from the makers of Innova. Either way if you switch foods you must slowly switch by adding 1/8 of the new food, then 1/6, then 1/4 and so on with the old food - in order to help the dog in switching foods. Otherwise you might get cause him to get excessive direahea(sp?).

Innova is a very high quality food. Try switching her over to Innova Evo which is even better than the regular Innova.
They have several different varietes, so try to get a variety other than what you feed now. For instance if you are feeding lamb now, try venison instead. It can take 6-8 weeks to see an improvement if it is allergies to an ingredient in the food.
Your dog can also be allergic to many other things including your carpet, pollen, cleaners, anything a human can be allergic to, a dog can be allergic too.

is it possible that your puppy is bored? doesn't have enough toys? Sometimes they chew on themselves when bored. I kind of doubt its allergies, since its only her paws, are there other symptoms on her skin?
big allergens for dogs (from what i read) are corn, and wheat, although i do know a dog that is allergic to turkey, that is much less common.
Innova is very good quality food, if you have doubts look here:
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showcat.php/cat/3
all the food like science diet, iams, etc get a 1 star out of 6 rating cause they use fillers, corn, by products, etc. Read the reviews of some of the foods and you will know what to look for in good quality food.
BTW, are you giving any treats? maybe the treats have ingredients that she is allergic to. Also your vet can do an allergy test.

Madison, please read the list of ingredients on that Science Diet - corn meal is near the top of the list and they use "meal" not actual meat.
Science Diet is no better than supermarket junk.
You might want to switch to a better quality dry - like Canidae or something similar. I fed my dogs Science Diet, thinking it was good since my old vet sells it, but it's corn meal fillers and a lot of preservatives. My dogs liked it, but after a while their skins and coats suffered and they got fat from all the corn.

Our holistic dry foods are a great encore to our gourmet can line. One of the conveniences of today's society is quality dry pet foods. They are easy to store, and all you have to do is pour some in the bowl to prepare a meal in no time.
Supplementing our can food with our dry food offers the best of both worlds and adds the home cooked feel to your dog's meal. Then when you see how fast they eat it, you'll get the credit for being a great chef...and we promise to never tell!

Innova is a great food....don't try science diet..that stuff is garbage. I bet you she doesn't have an allergy to the food she might be reacting to something else..like fertilizer in grass or she may have a fungus in between her pads...look at her feet..are the red and raw? you can get a simple treatment from the vet

Check out the Wellness.. It seems if dogs aren't keen on the Canidae they'll like the Wellness .. If they don't like the Wellness they'll like the Canidae.

I use Science Diet- my adult dog and puppy love it! They sell it at my pet stores. Plus, it comes in numerous different flavors- try and get a grain-free dog food (make sure meat is the first ingredient on the dog food package)- the majority of dogs who are allergic to their dog food are allergic to the grains.
