I picked up a little spot of ringworm at my mother in laws house from her stupid cat. I didn't have any symptoms for two weeks except for severe itching in the spot. I've never had this problem before and when a spot showed up it took me a good week to figure out what it was. I've been applying lotramin and athletes foot spray on it two to three times a day for a week and a half. yesterday it started flaking a little and peeling like a sunburn kind of but the spot isn't going away. Today it is peeling more and actually leaking clear fluid out of it. I need to know what ringworm looks like and what it does when it's healing? I know what it looks like when it's eating away at the flesh but I would like to know that it is going away, it's very frustrating!

Ringworm is a flora, or a fungus and your treatment with athletes foot spray may have helped but, not quit good enough. If it is ringworm you should find out for sure, it sounds like it but, the spray should have helped. Go to the pharmacy and get some salve, ask the pharmacist. Something over the counter. If it doesn't you'll have to see your doctor.

the yellow coating turns hard, like a scab. then eventually the scab heals completey with 6 months - 1 year. dont pick it or touch it, as the bacteria and germs from your hands will infect it and inflame it more.
