Why do so many of you love to be first in answering but never seem to think it through?

in other words, why do so many of you so-called {smart} people like to be clever, instead of being just plain honest and idealistic? We ROMANS would like to know.

I think that the reason people are in a hurry to be a first answerer is because if you never come back to choose a best answer (which is often the case) and the question goes into voting, people in a hurry to just get a point for voting on a best answer will automatically choose the first one on the list, so they don't have to scroll down and actually read through all of the answers.

So the likelihood is that you will get 12 points for a meaningless answer that took you less than 2 seconds to type - 2 points for answering and 10 points for best answer.

Why can't you be smart, honest and idealistic? I think most ppl on here just want points, not to help. But it's not like you get a prize...

Because if we type too long of a message, our answer ends up at the bottom of the page and nobody reads it!
