I have WINTV and I'm using it to transfer analogue camcorder footage to my hard drive but whenever I use it after 45 minutes of recording it freezes and then when I stop it the whole file has gone and I've wasted 45 minutes. I am having to record in 30 minute sections. Is there an easier way??

How much hard drive space do you have? You could be running out of space during the recording process. What compression is WinTV using? If your WinTV doesn't have compression built in (ie: it uses software compression), then the a little more disk space is required during recording.

Well the easiest but not cheapest way is to invest in the Archos 704 mobile dvr system for £329.99 form argos you also have to buy the dvr station sold seperately for £69.99 you can put anything through it. Record from tv video satalite cam-corder this is an excelent tool it records in dvd high quality well worth buying if you have a spare £400. This sound's a lot of money but it is well worth it you will never have any problems putting your home movies onto your pc then writing them to dvd's.
