In Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossilbe to please Him: for he who comest to God must believe that He Is & that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Then there is the faith of Noah, Abraham, Sarah, & others in Hebrew11.

Is faith in God to hear God & then to trust & obey God?

the Phantom, How can you have faith in God, if you can't hear him or sense Gods love? Noah heard God. Abraham heard God. They knew what God asked them to do.

KoryZ. By faith God, the universe was formed by Gods command. That is soo powerful.

This is the creative power of God. I guess that is how we are saved by faith & what we say. Then the creative miracle of being born of His Spirit.

I have a problem with 'faith is believing without seeing'. Unless you are talking about faith is believing even if not seeing with your physical eyes that it has come to pass yet. But faith is the assurance, so you have to see Gods assurance to receive the assurance.

Faith is well, quite simply put believing in something without any immediate physical proof to support that faith.
This is separate from belief so do not confuse the two as some do. Belief is the acceptance of something, that however you are willing to alter this belief according to evidence/arguments heard or seen at a later time.
True faith is immovable.

You should read the preceding verses to the passage you cited.

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for. 3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
~Hebrews 11:1-3 (New International Version)

However, in the context of the verse you mentioned, I believe God is referring faith to the belief that He exists and is capable of doing anything.

Once in class my religion teacher walked to the back room wall and turned off the lights and told us to have faith that they would come back on. After 10 minutes of thinking really hard a girl finally understood and got up and walked over to the wall and switched the lights back on.
"That is faith" said my teacher.
Faith is the belief in something that is true, but faith requires action or work to prove it. Hence the bible passage, "Faith without works is dead"
In Christian terms it's easy to say 'I have faith in Jesus', but you have to show that faith by being a Christain and following Jesus' example.

Faith is the assured expectations of realities though not beheld.

As we rest our eyes on the things unseen because the things seen are temporary.
The things unseen are everlasting.

Since I have Faith in Jehovah God I will listen and obey what he tells me.

Faith is taking God at His word. Which means, for me, believing every single thing in the bible, including the hundreds of promises for those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Over the years, I have found God faithful; true to His word. So my faith is not blind, but proven.

Faith not based on fact is fantacy... for those of The True Christian Faith God is The Fact... our "faith" is based on each individuals personal knowledge of God and what God has done for them and promised them... because of our personal knowledge of God as "Fact"... we have the "Faith" that what God has promised us will come to pass.
