It's a long and hard etched social dating standard that the guy foots the bill for a date, either at the movies, dinner....etc. I feel that comes from the accepted/assumed male role of being the "leader". I mean, how backward (but welcomed) would it seem if the girl paid for the expenses of an evening's date?

Its no big deal to me. Me and my ex used to take turns doing things for each other. One week is my week to buy him gifts take him out and etc and the next week was his. Its all about compromise and girls who can't pay for their man sometimes are just needy gold diggers who need to get a grip on life.

I used to feel akward so then I talked to my boyfriend and told him that he didn't have to pay for me. So now one day I will pay for the movie or dinner then the next day he will pay for the movie or dinner. We just like it, and it doesn't leave my boyfried broke and me feeling bad. haha

In the beginning, it's fine (like first date or two...). But after that I feel that the two should split the cost...
