My Dad died a few years ago and I want to have a poem in the program for him. Is there any sites that anyone can reccomend to me. I have looked but only come up with a few that I like "ok".

There are a ton of sites out there you just have to know how to search. I searched for wedding readings, father poems and wedding poems. You didn't really tell us any personal info about your dad (his occupation, heritage, hobbies) so it is hard to pick one for you as I am sure you want it to have some personal significance, but here are some sites that may help.

Feel free to email me if you need more help, I am really good at finding stuff online!! Good luck!

Go to your library, or call their reference desk, and ask if they have the Chadwyck-Healy database of English poetry (goes up through the year 1900) available to users. If you can get a library card and access this database, you will have a HUGE resource at your disposal, and you can kinda search around for what you need.

There are other ways to find poems--you can just look up the title for some of the better-known ones on the Internet.

Alfred Tennyson's poem "In Memoriam" is EXTREMELY long, so you'd want to excerpt something from it, but it is a poem detailing a 3-year mourning process for a very close friend. That's the first thing that comes to mind for a memorial poem, and I'm sure that somewhere in there is an appropriate few stanzas.

Good luck selecting!
