Have you ever noticed that muslims will come and give a whole slew of thumbs down to many answers that come straight from their highest religious texts.
For example, from Qur'an 4:34:
"Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and B E A T them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great. "
or how about this one?
Bukhari:V1B4N1229-33 "Aisha [who was 9] said, ‘I used to wash semen off the Prophet's [who was 53] clothes. When he went for prayers I used to notice one or more spots on them.'"

For those who don't know, Aisha was 53 year old Muhammad's 6-yr old child bride. He waited until she was 9 before doing the most evil, unthinkable act to her:
Narrated Hisham's father:
Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old.

ray- I can see you've experienced the same phenomenon that I've noticed. Muslims don't like having the evidence exposed about the severe and hopeless deficiencies in their cult

Ahmed - 25yr old man with a 12 year old? that is SERIOUSLY gross
Age of consent 13? Well if both parties are 13 years old that's probably not a big deal. BUT there's no excuse for a 56 yr old man to raype a 9 year old girl

That's a good question. What typically seems to happen when you post from Islamic holy books is
1. they say you're 'bashing Islam'
2. they say you're taking things out of context
The latter seems to be a game ... if there's a quote that reflects badly on your religion, simply declare that it's being taken out of context...regardless of what the context is and if it is or is not being taken out of context. It's a perfect strategy, actually. Whatever evil Islam prescribes -- that Islamic thinkers and imams recognize and preach very clearly -- is taken out of context when non-Muslims quote it.
Beautiful...

I would rather be tortured and killed. The problem in the "militant muslim" view is the way they are interpreting texts. It's not in the texts, or else "militant islam" would be the mainstream and not the less than 5% minority that it is. Most violence in Islam is not because of Islam, it's because of the condition of the people in that area. Poverty, Western Empirical history, foreign governments meddling in their affairs. This is the cause that pushes people to violence. It's the same in many poor countries with a similar history. Your assumptions that Islam does promote open killing of non-muslims, and poor treatment of women are false. As for non-muslims being taxed to live under the protection of muslims, this is probably an ideal that the US should implement. US citizens should pay their full tax, illegal immigrants, non-US citizens, etc, should be required to pay a similar tax to enjoy the same social benefits of being here (schools, public service, and more.)

Christians do the same thing. I think it's ignorance of their own religion. For others saying it's out of context, does the above quotation then go to say, "sorry, just joking"? It talks about beating women and treating them like trash. A tradition carried on to this day. There is no defense for this sort of stuff.
I downloaded a copy of the Quran about 5 years ago. I only read for a few minutes, but it was perfectly clear to me why they hate everyone else. Their book actually had hate lines about the jews, and called the christians misguided. Ever since then, I have considered it the religion of hate. Then on answers here, I see more quotations, and with some history, and let's just say I do not have a high opinion of anyone that can believe this junk.

They don't like the truth. It hurts sometimes.
The real truth is that people use the excuse of "the era" or look at "the culture" for Muhammad's statutory rape of his 9 year old bride. Hopefully people will buy that explanation and not question Muhammad's actions any further. What they forget to say is Muhammad is the perfect example for Muslims according to islam. His actions are unquestionable. He transcends time. What does that mean? That all 50+ year old Muslim men are allowed to be with a 9 year old? That would be a very logical conclusion.
God Bless.

1. because you only know the word BEAT is to punch and kick someone, where Islam has rules on this issue and u not just beat her when she disagree with you, try to learn this issue with a light of Islam.
2. try to ask you mother at what age she married. most era especially before 1900, plus no school, no job, no good environment, you will find even African people married at early age. in Islam, when a girl bleeding, they are call mature and responsible for their sin, and also they can breed.
nowaday, many girl/woman pregnant at early age and they either abortion it or deliver without farther.
"when they bleed, they will breed"

Hey I'm a Muslim.
Please look at the context of the verse. Please listen to this lecture. I forgot the scholar's name but he is brilliant. He talks about if Islam is only about beating women.

Please watch this lecture. It is by Dr. Bilal Phillips. He talks about Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) marriage to A'isha (may Allah be pleased with her).

It is considered Bashing when you misinterpret things for your interest.
When the prophet got married to Ayisha, NO ONE objected to the wedding, no one said what you are saying here. When I say no one, I meant EVERYONE. Muslims/Christians/Jews/Pagans and EVERYONE. why is that??
Its because it was a normal thing to do.
My grandmother got married when she was 12 years old, and my grandfather was +25 years old. Was that wrong??
The age of consent in Spain, right now, is 13 years old. Is that wrong??
The age of consent was raised in CA to 12 from 10 in late 1800s, was that wrong??

No one likes it when their sacred scripture is shown to be false, stupid or nonsense. We get the same reaction from christians all the time.

Because you are taking things out of context, with the express purpose of making others look foolish.
Christians have the same reaction when you try to use their Book to make them look bad.
I would imagine that any faith would have a similar reaction.
