I have had constipation since forever. I would only do number 2 once a week. I tried having lots of fiber in my diet but it didn't work until I strated eating 3-5 prunes a day. Now I have a bowel (spelling?) movement once if not twice a day. So my question is. Where did all of this waste go when I used to only poop once a week?

Good question. My wife suffers from chronic constipation as well only she has not found the answer to regularity yet. The doctors don't seem to mind that she goes 7 - 10 days between bms. Now she has ibs and goes between constipation and diarrhea every other week. It is not a good thing and I don't know if we will ever find a key to regularity for her. P.S. pruned didn't work for her. Neither does fiber, laxatives or stool softeners.

Do not give her anything to make her go to the bathroom! My oldest daughter went once a week literally, no signs of constipation, nothing, then she would have an explosion. If she is not uncomfortable then it's just the natural breastfeeding not anything that you need to give her something to make her go. Like i said my daughter went every seven days, every time from about 3 weeks on, i called the LC, i called pediatricians, everybody i could think of, they said not to worry unless she was uncomfortable or it went over 10 days. Enjoy, she will probably continue to do so, but when she finally goes, she will completely fill up that diaper!
