I would rent a house in Cesme, close to the airport and close to Izmir shopping.

No sightseeing and no shopping? I can't advise the seaside to Cypriot couple, either. That's a hard case.

How about Sapanca? Nice restaurants, green nature, trekking if you like, lounging by the lake if you don't... Just a tiny miny 2-3 hours from Istanbul.

How about Antalya? It's very close to Cyprus. The hotels are near the airport, so you won't have trouble with that. The downtown area is only 15 minutes away. They have cafes along the sea coast and discotechs. It's a really nice city.
Edit- I almost forgot that my picture was taken in Antalya

It's such a gorgeous sunset!

Istanbul is the best choise for holidays! There is any activities for anyone in Istanbul you can never get bored :-) Visit ortakoy, eat your kumpir by the sea side, walk along the istiklal street.... tons of things to do!

Well to dude whatever.

Maybe you don't care but we Turks do care and celebrate bayrams. You better shut up if you don't have any idea on what you're talking about. That only reveals your ignorance.

To mustafa abi; how about spending the holiday in Istanbul? Be a tourist there for a few days. That'd be great.
