Neither.
I sit down and have conversations all the time w/ my agnostic husband, and I am still christian, he is still agnostic.
However...he has said that he'd maybe go to church with me when I find one that he would like...

I don't know! You see, there is a lot going on in the human mind, a lot of things that people are ignorant of. So I have talked to many more Atheists than Agnostics, but only because many Atheists are ignorant of what makes an Agnostic an Agnostic. I find that many Atheists are actually Agnostic, because they think that there is a chance that they are wrong about God's existence. Therefore, if they are logical people, they are admitting that they don't know.

I used to be an Agnostic. I never thought that I knew it all, like Atheists who are hardcore about it. The Atheists think the way they do because they are proud, claiming science when science has nothing to do with it; they are thoughtless and presumptive.

First thing... no one of The True Christian Faith would ever become an atheist... or "convert" to anything else...period.... If the conversation was with some one who thought they had been a "christian" then it would be a difficult task to present The Truth to them as they would, in all likely hood, be very hardened to the subject... and... in fact... no one may be "converted" to The True Christian Faith unless God leads them... and no one may be compeled to take "the faith" by any means...

I can state, in direct responce to your question, That if the " Christian" is truly of The Faith that the "Christian" will not be "converted"... once one truly submitts to God and God grants them His free gift of Salvation there is no turning back.

From the Christian point of view, only the atheist.
1 John 2:18-19 teaches that "They went out from us, but they were not of us". In other words, "if you ever see a former Christian, know this: he never was a Christian". There is no such thing as former Christian, according to the Bible. You can argue, but according to the Bible's definition of Christian, there is no former Christian and the verses teaching that spans throughout the Bible. So it remains only one possibility: to convert the atheist, yet, it's really hard to convince one but that's the only alternative because if you feel you converted a Christian, you are wrong. What you may convert is a pseudo-Christian, one of the other side, maybe disguised so good among Christians that no man realized. God foreknows those who belong to Him.

I don't think it will work but yes. They have much more experience in the religion. They know what is required. They can use scripture against you. A former Christian who knows the bible well is dangerous. They know how to bring up things that seem contradicting and a not so smart Christian isn't going to be able to defend against that.

I would think that the atheist/agnostic wold be the one who more than likely be the one to convert back to his/her former beliefs. If you had not mentioned that the non-believer had once been a believer then my answer would have been different.

I would talk, I would listen, but I would never try to convert anyone. My father was a Jehovah Witness and he never converted me, then nobody will. And I really don't feel like making anyone believe in what I believe, because this is a very personal choice. I can talk about what I believe but the person will follow me only if what I say touches her heart. Nobody converts anyone, we convert ourselves after hearing or seeing something that makes sense to us as individuals and according to each other's experiences, and that is how it is supposed to be. We progress only by our own effort on seeking whatever it is.

My religion is Spiritism, I believe in spirits and in reincarnation.

Peace!

You would have a difficult time with either of these two, and the conversation probably would not happen anyway. It would almost be necessary to chain up the atheist or agnostic to keep them from running away from you into the basement if you even try to bring up God.

I was kidnapped for my faith, and attempts were made to "deprogram" me and set me straight.

Now, 25 years later, I still belong to Jesus Christ.

I did not grow up in a Christian home. I was always taught that Jesus was a liar, perhaps a lunatic, a deceiver, and above all else, dead.

After He changed my life, I could no longer deny His existence as the Son of God.

I would be glad to sit down with anyone and discuss these things in detail. If brain washing techniques used on POWs couldn't remove Jesus from my heart, what makes you think an atheist or agnostic can? Jesus is here to stay.

Oh, by the way, God does not need YOUR approval for His existence. He was here long before you were born, and He'll continue to exist long after you die.

If grain is not ripe you cannot harvest it or even if you managed there would be no seed to develop into more grain.

Christians really who evangalize are just harvesters of something that is "ready to be harvested". It's not about joining a club or anything like that. No wonder there is no sense in arguing! However some Christians are called to dispel lies that are keeping someone from coming to the knowledge of truth which is, Jesus is saviour and Lord.

It doesn't matter, God will convince everyone who is pre-disposed to accepting his great gift of salvation.
