I'm looking for a faith. I've never been a religious person but I've been through a hard time recently and need maybe something I can believe in.

I was bought up in a Irish Catholic family but I find catholicism has been dirtied by people who want to use it for their individual beliefs and own advantage like most other religions.
Is their any religion that doesn't judge, mock, be hypocritical and true to it's words?

at the start what did you mean? Kaay so which you're saying i've got faith that there is a God yet i do no longer desire to stroll the christian walk of religion through fact i'm to afraid is that what you have been attempting to assert. N-e wayz, i visit respond to your question. I even have in no way been an atheist yet I even have something that i think of would help. ok i ought to assert, you're taking me back to the actuality of doubting Thomas. Doubting Thomas grew to become into between the disciples of Jesus Christ. He too does no longer have faith Jesus had truly risen from the lifeless till he had touched the piercing in his component and the nail print in his hand. The undesirable element approximately all of that's that he have been given the privilege to wittness this, you on the different hand would possibly no longer get the privilege of having Jesus walk interior the direction of the front door. that's precisely the place faith is available in, John 20:29 says Jesus saith unto him, "Thomas, through fact thou hast seen me thou hast believed:blessed are they that have bot seen, and yet have believed. In different words, you ought to make that first step and thats confessing with your motuh and believing with your coronary heart that God is the all-powerful one.purely take it sluggish to think of roughly this, how did the earth truly come into being, how did the tree's get right here, how did the folk arrive. you're saying you recognize all approximately evolution and each little thing like that yet clarify this to me the place did we actually come from if God did no longer create us.If we actually did evolve from monkeys like its been suggested why are we no longer nonetheless evolving? Why are there no transitional styles of those distinctive species that have been supposedly got here across. only one thing so which you would be able to think of roughly. in case you desire to talk this added, the call is Minnie. you are able to look me up.

This is what I would do if I had to do it all over again.

Trust God, more than anything.

Jesus founded Christianity, and therefore is the one to listen to.

So if Jesus said something, I need to believe it, no matter what the 'church' says. So then I have to read and study the Bible in order to know what he said.

This is one of the most important things that Jesus ever said in any of the Gospels:
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, (John 3)

So notice, there is no priesthood involved, no candles necessary, no reverence to the Pope, no going to church every Sunday, and no rosary or cross around the neck mentioned. It is simple direct belief the way he said it was. The basic lesson of the Bible is: When God says something, He keeps His word. God is trustworthy.

I have to agree with Schneb on quite a bit. I learn of mama's dirty little secrets that many catholics here don't like me to talk about. Who Hitler was to the catholic church is just one of them.

I also used to be a Southern Baptist. But between many of them being "free"mason, claiming books like the NIV, TLV, TNIV, etc. are "good enough", and being told by one pastor that what he learn in seminary school vs. what the King James Bible said was more credible, it was time to leave! When did God need man to "help" Him "straighten-out" His word?

God Himself though His Word lead me to become a Independent Fundamental Baptist. What I believe comes from the Bible and the Bible alone. Click on the website below to see.

Boy, that sounds like me 17 yrs ago. Having a belief, but needing God again in my life. Missing him, but wanting, longing for church. I thought long and hard about going to a non-demominational one down the street. But it bugged me that a minister was in charge of all these people, and who gave him that authority. Why was his interptretation of the Bible correct and everyone else was wrong. There had to be one church because there is only one God. I learned that the Mormon church professed to have the whole gospel of Jesus Christ. I called the sister missionaries. After my first lesson they gave me a Book of Mormon and asked me to read "Moroni's promise." After they left I looked at that book like it had the plague. I had heard about the Mormons before and they creeped me out. But I was determined to find out what I should do. I first read James 1:5 and knew that Father would answer my prayer if I was sincere enough and truly wanted one. So I read in Moroni 10:3-5 like the sisters asked me to. Then I prayed if this is what I should do. The feeling I received cannot be put into words. But feelings like; joy, warmth, confirmation, and I KNEW without a doubt that it was correct and of Him. I was baptized 2 weeks later and it was the BEST decision that I ever made. I married my high school sweetheart and we have been together 20 years. My church gives us direction to raise our kids. It teaches me how Heavenly Father loves all of His children and how he is waiting for us. I have never been happier.

Good luck on your journey!

I believe that at their core, *all* religions are true to their words and teach their followers to be loving and respectful. The hypocrisy and judgmentalism come from people who misuse religion as a weapon, instead of as a source of comfort.

If that helps put things in perspective at all ...

What is faith?

Without faith it is impossible to please God, : for those who come to God ust believe that God Is and is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.

Faith isn't religion. Faith is to trust & obey God. Noah was warned of God of a coming flood. Noah built an ark & was built. Abraham heard God & obeyed God. Sara heard God & obeyed God. Hebrews11.

Faith is a gift of God. Faith comes by hearing & hearing a Word about Christ / God. Jesus asked the Disciples who they thought He Is. Peter said that Jesus Is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus told Peter that it Is God who revealed this to him. Not man. On this Rock, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, Jesus builds His Church & the gates of hell will not prevail.

Forget religion & have a relationship restored with God.

Right now, religion is going out & Jesus is coming in.
