My sister's dogs, Shadow and Jake, would do the same when they were younger. Don't know if they still do.

For a while, we had to give up on the Game Show Network, with all the bells and buzzers going off. She finally realized it wasn't burglars coming to take her dog toys, though, and settled down. I know she watched TV, though, (she's blind now), because once a commercial came on TV--one of the Orkin commercials that had a fake ad come on, then a roach crawled across the screen, only to drop dead after being sprayed by the Orkin man. I saw Molly looking intently at the TV, and when the bug dropped, she immediately looked at the floor in front of the TV, like "Where did it go?!"

I have 3 dogs and 2 of them jump. The other one seems to be able to tell the difference. I have one dog that growls at barking dogs on TV. He also loves to watch Animal Planet and hops around, trying to get the TV dogs to play with him. I don't think non-dog lovers know how funny they can be!

Yeah, both of my dogs bark at the sound of the doorbell whether it's ok tv or not. My fiance sometimes knocks on the wall (they'll be sitting right next to him) and they'll run to the door barking- he just likes messing with them. My dogs also like watching Animal Planet- they'll watch the dogs on tv and jump around wanting to play with them.
Good guard dogs though since they alert us at any movement or noise :)

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/MXChN
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

My dog did do that when we first got her. We've trained her to not bark or freak out when she hears the door bell. Now she ignores the door bell and will only go to the door if we tell her to.

My crazy Jack Russell does this whenever she hears a doorbell on tv! It's very funny to see.
