I have a friend that I have known for about a year and a half. We both do TaeKwonDo together. And I just realized that I think I like him. The only thing is that he is two years younger than me. I'm in 10th and he is in 8th. I am also a higher rank then him. He is a brown belt and I am a 1st degree level 3 black belt. And there is NO WAY that I am going to tell him that I like him, because last time I told a guy that I liked him he didn't like me back and it was just awkward. What should I do?

Relax and take time to see if you still feel the same way in a couple of months. At the same time if you have a cafe were you both train you could "just have a coffee together" discusing the sport !! And whats two years between friends!!!??? Best Wishes and hope what you wish happens

That's not weird at all. Just look at Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
Besides, my grandparents were married for about 50 years (RIP) and my grandmother was 2 years older then my grandfather.
If I were in your situation, I would drop really stubble hints that I liked him, but only slightly, so he wouldn't be sure whether I did or not. That way if he likes you back, he might try to drop some hints himself, if not, he probably won't think anything of it!

While age can matter when you're very young, as you and he both are, you will find as you age - the gap does have a tendency to close when it comes to small age differences in relationships.

Right now, just enjoy his friendship. It's not about whose a "black belt" and whose a "brown belt" dear, its about LIKING SOMEONE FOR WHO THEY ARE - PERIOD.

Think about it!

It's not weird. I have friends that are 10 years apart. Of course they were 24 and 34 when they met. Just take it slow and get to know him you'll figure out if he likes you back

8th grade? Even if he does like you, it would be very difficult for someone his age to have an open meaningful relationship. You could be friends. Try 10th to 12th grade. you will just end up hurt and frustrated otherwise.

haha... no, it's definetly NOT weird. I've always liked guys that were younger than me... don't know why that worked out, lol. But yea, I would just wait a while and see if he makes the first move. I've liked many guys (and asked out a few) only to find out they didn't like me. So definetly wait for the guy who asks you out. ;)

In your lifetime you will deal with many rejections, AND many acceptions (not sure that is a word, but whatever the opposite of rejection is! ;-) ). However, you'll never know if you don't try. Don''t let the fear of being hurt rob you of joy as well.

1st of all, you will find that there is going to be ALOT of awkward moments in your life & you will have to grow up and tackle each one to the best of your ability. 2nd, I wouldn't be too worried about the age difference. Good luck!
