Thinking about selling our house and need to know the best things to do to get more money out of it!

I have to disagree with neutrals-----the trend now is in designer colors and people want to see spa-like bathrooms. What color are your floors, fixtures and tile? If they are in the neutral range, go with a soft sage green (NOT mint green!) on the walls. Stage the bathroom with all white or off-white plain towels and rugs. Add in some bamboo accessories and maybe an orchid on the counter---real or faux. This will give your bathroom a calm, soothing spa type feel. Good luck
also---a great hint! Clean your faucets and any other metal surfaces with rubbing alcohol. It will get rid of any water spots and make them shine like new!

Neutrals, like off white. The problem is that the "really cool colors" you picked don't necessarily sell. As soon as someone sees a hideous green bathroom, they immediately think about how much effort and money it will take to redo it. Same with every other room. Not so with off white. It doesn't even get their attention, so there are no "how much will it cost" thoughts in their heads. They simply realize that they can move right in, put in their towels, soap dispensers, furniture, appliances, pictures, and everything else, and it will all blend.

Neutral tones. Basically, you a color that the potential buyers can ignore, so that they can focus on the features & layout of your house.
I would suggest finding your best towels - the ones that you will display when showing your home (or buy nice, new ones, if necessary) and then choose a coordinating color that will work well with that color. Sherwin Williams color visualizer is great for that b/c it shows a color scheme at the bottom of the page that will work well together.

Keep your room colors neutral, de-clutter, and try to put away as many personal type items as you can. Do whatever you need to make sure the best features of your house show and not your stuff. Make sure that each of your rooms will show for the purpose they are to be used for. If your dining room is currently your office, it needs to show as a dining room for example.

I think the best way to decorate or stage a bathroom is to have a "spa-like" feel to it, so we painted ours a sort of light green.....I wouldn't say sea foam but it was along those lines.

I have just had my bathroom decorated and we chose a warm terracotta and it looks lovely. I think some bathrooms look cold and this colour has added alot of warmth. Everything else in there is white,whick looks nice and clean.

Paint everything white. Also, change out all light bulbs to Reveal light bulbs. It will be like walking into sunshine in your house. Yes, all light bulbs!

At present, the beige/taupe/camel/caramel colours are the most desired...they look rich and expensive...

I'd keep everything neutral; whites, beiges, creams.
