I want to use the word process to make a small letter and then copy and then destroy the original. Is there a way to do this so nobody can see what I have done.

Sure. Just exit Word as soon as you've got your hard copy. Then the electronic original will be gone.

If you want to save the document and take it with you to print later, just do a "Save As" when you're done with the letter and specify a removable drive location like a USB stick. Then exit Word.

if you want nobody to find you ever typed a letter. Before saving the file, in Word go to tools menu -> options -> under general tab there is a check box labeled 'Recently used file list' set the value to 0. so it does not appear under recent file list. it will also appear in Windows 'My Recent Documents' just right click and delete the shortcut from there. And then delete it.

Yes, simply DO NOT SAVE the file, delete it after you have printed it. OR buy a USB memory key and save it on that, then once you are happy, delete it and save other stuff on the key to "overwrite" all of it's data.

After you finish your letter, click on then . You will then be able to name your doc file and save it wherever you want (ie "my documents" or "desk top"). After that you can right click on the file and press "copy", then somewhere else in the file your saving it in, right click and press "paste". viola! two identical files!!
