Rationality, critical thinking, and skepticism are more important than atheism.
I've heard of atheist dictators who have murdered thousands, but I've never heard of a rational leader do anything similar.

Atheists don't have beliefs, only convictions that are subject to change given new information. Religionists constantly try to squeeze atheism into a religious box so they can pretend it's on the same footing as faith without evidence, but it simply isn't so.
So, critical thinking, by all means. And that includes exposing the Grand Delusion of religion!

Well... there are no "atheistic beliefs" - more like "NON-BELIEFS" if you **must** define it. And, as far as I can tell... there's no real "promotion" of these amongst atheists to those around them.
I don't believe... I don't expect others to follow the same pattern of thinking I do - nor to "give up their faith" to be like me or to think / not-believe the way I do.
But ... I *do* like to promote critical thinking because it's just a good mental exercise & it's a way to properly USE your intelligence to figure things out for yourself.
Not sure if it's necessarily one or the other in this case.

Critical thinking; it's what led me to atheism in the first place.
If some new evidence were to turn up, and critical thinking might lead me to a different conclusion... why, I'd take that one. We can only know the truth if we pick things apart and really, truly look at them. That's my two cents.

I want people to be critical thinkers. That is the reason I became an atheist, but no matter what the outcome, critical thinking is the best choice.

I am much in favor of critical thinking, andIi have no beliefs. A belief is an idea one accepts as true with no proof at all for it. I have knowledge gained by questioning beliefs thrust upon me in childhood, looking at all available evidence and thinking objjectively and critically about it...not merely blind beliefs in anything.

Well, considering "Atheistic Beliefs" are in no way codified or universal, and change from person to person, I'd think Critical Thinking would be a more useful skill.
