If Jesus is not God incarnate, this and many other passages would not make any sense.
Another example would be the identity of the First and Last.
Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH...
Isa 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I YHWH, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Isa 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.
Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH and His Redeemer
Isa 44:6 Thus saith the YHWH the King of Israel, and his redeemer the YHWH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH it is Yeshua, the Redeemer, the Almighty.
Re 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Re 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:
Re 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Re 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Re 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

I'm having trouble with this, too. I've looked at biblegateway.com because they have so many different translations and versions, and the pronouns like "him" and "me" are not always used in the same places. I think it might mean that because Jesus was physically pierced, that Jehovah felt pierced in the heart. The people who were sorrowful when Jesus died knew he was God's son, not God Himself. They would not have looked to Jesus for comfort because he had died, but they would have looked to God. I could be in left field on this, but I know that God cannot die and this is the only reasonable explanation I can offer.

Well, I believe that Jesus and God are the same person. In fact, Jesus says so in John 14. He is talking to the disciples, and Philip asks Him to reveal the Father (God) to him. Jesus replied to him: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves." (vs 9-11)
Since Jesus and God are the same person, then the answer to your original question is that BOTH were pierced on the cross. Jesus was physically on the cross, but Jesus and God are the same person, so Zechariah is indeed prophesying about Jesus.
For more evidence that Jesus and God are the same person, see Genesis 1:26: "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness'" and John 1:1-4: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." John 1:14 states that the Word is Jesus, for the Word became a man and lived amongst us.
It's a very hard concept to wrap our minds around, how God can be three people and one person at the exact same time. I know all Earthly analogies fall flat when they try explain this phenomenon, but I like to think of it this way: men (talking about the species) are also three beings in one: mind, body, and spirit. Although each are separate entities, they come together to make one unit: a homo sapien. God is also mind, body and spirit: the mind being God, the body being Jesus, and the spirit being the Holy Spirit. Three separate beings that come together to make one distinct unit: God. I know it's probably not exactly like that, but it helps me attempt to wrap my finite mind around God's infinite being.

The Most High God, yet also the kinsman redeemer. At the time of the cross, the kinsman redeemer, the Lamb of God.
13 "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. (Daniel 7)
He's such a wonderful and loving God! ( :

Jesus was a man. Jesus is a man. Jesus is the son of the One God. Only Jesus because of being a man and knowing of men can forgive us our sins. We must be thankful that he is given the authority by the One God to forgive us our sins. For if the One God was to come to judge man, we would all surly perish. Even for the Original sin of which, we know not, we would perish.

Pay no mind to achtung heiss' JW / Watchtower nonsensical babble. Christ is God. Look at these scriptures :
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten[son] of the Father), full of grace and truth."
John 10:30 (Christ speaking) "I and my Father are one."
1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven; the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one."
So, you can see that as the Roman sword pierced the side of Christ, it pierced the side of God, as Christ is God in the flesh.

What does John 3:16 say?
God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten SON.
The scriptures don't say that God gave himself.
It says God gave his Son.
Do you believe in the ransom sacrifice?
