Islam(Muslim's Religion) and Buddhism have nothing in common.Buddhism is there from 500 B.C.E.--Islam came into existence almost 1100 years after Buddhism was started.Buddhism has several things in common and differ in many ways from Hindu Religion. One brightest spot of Buddhism is it NOT only it "Preaches" ,but "PRACTISES" ---AHINSA(Non-Violece)-The weakness with Buddhists is that they have no "Army ,Air-force and Navy " and they have lost all the "Ground"(in South and South East Asia-from Afganisthan(Khaandaar) to Japan) on which they had had hold and now they are "refugees" in other's Lands.. A "Religion" means it should neither "Preach" nor "Practice" Violence,--killing,mutilating,maiming,terrorising,humiliating the women-folk of millions of fellow Humans.Unfortunately I am NOT a Buddhist, but a Hindu-but a great admirer of Buddhism.(maiming, humiliating the women-folk is missing in the main post)

*To Stand-up: Because when you are smoking some potent bud, you get on another level and you open up your mind involuntarily. All you have to do is close your eyes and relax, and you will see fractal patterns, perfect geometry, mandalas, lotus blossoms and you feel at one with everything and at pure peace. Don't even get me started on the colors and the feeling of flying slam through space. All you have to do is imagine a place in your mind, and you are there. That's why it's called Buddha, son. It's da shizznit.

So far as I slam being related to Buddhism...hmmm. I cannot see a direct correlation in base tenents and beliefs. Buddhists as a rule, are all about peace, and tend to treat women like sentient beings.

I haven't heard this claim before and none of my Muslim friends seem "insecure" by my Buddhism, as a matter of fact we get along rather well. Some are often more altruistic than many Buddhists I know. People are people first, the rest is icing on the cake.

Buddhism is in reality an offshoot from Hinduism in plenty a similar way that Christianity is an offshoot of Buddhism. And in plenty a similar way that Jesus is meant to have been raised in a Jewish family members, Buddha advance into raised in a Hindu domicile. That pronounced, the history is a little extra of a liberation from oppressive previous, and however maximum Buddhists settle for the history that Buddha based his teachings interior the midst of an fairly orthodox Hindu-ruled India, the darker link means that maximum Buddhists are fairly indignant by the thought Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism. the significant element that Buddha presented, especially to those who have been placed in decrease-varna caste advance right into a definite point of wish which they felt they did no longer have interior the staunch orthodoxy that advance into seen as inviolable and previous substitute. Regardless, the respective concept structures (however no longer the respective practices) are almost ninety% comparable, what with the concepts of cyclical reincarnation, transmigration of souls, functionality of karma, existence of countless planes of existence and quite a number of different hells and heavens, concepts of detachment, variations of tantra, etc. the significant variations lie in practices, the jobs of supernatural entities, and the positions that compilations like the Vedas have. there is very plenty extra stress to Hinduism than Buddhism in issues like human beings dealing with "levels" of existence etc. surprisingly, however, once you get to the "degree" the place you're seen to be on the path to self-cognizance, Hinduism is the looser faith at the same time as Buddhism is inflexible in that particular cardinal regulations could be upheld. even however Buddhism did no longer have the assumption of "lowness" and "highness" of countless varnas and localized caste traditions, Buddha himself nonetheless admonished a definite point of appreciate for human beings of Brahmin and Kshatriya castes because of the shown fact that they served socially needed roles. additionally, lots of the certainty that became Buddhist sutras originated from scripts and synopses and thoughts which on the time, have been fairly solely regular to Brahmin ascetics.

I hadn't heard this. If so, it's among the most preposterous lies Christians have ever perpetrated (and there have been PLENTY).

Buddhism is an atheistic religion, as Buddha is NOT considered a god. It has nothing at all to do with the bloody-minded monotheism of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

II haven't heard of Christians equating Buddhists with Muslims/extremists. Where are you seeing/hearing this?
My guess is that this is not a Christian thing, but an idiot thing--and idiots come in all faiths.

I haven't heard this, nor do I understand it. Wasn't it the fanatical Taliban that blew up the famous Buddha monuments, after all?

I can see Christians making that claim. It's preposterous, but I can see them making that claim.
