He's the first person at the table fixing a plate when we have a pot luck lunch at the office, yet he brings only a 2.99 box of cookies, when everyone else brought a substantial home cooked something. He's always begging for tea bags, asperin, hard candies, splendia, but never replaces anything, and never brings donuts or bagels, ever.

Ex college roommate. Would bum meals off of friends but never reciprocate (this person had money in the bank). B****s and moans whenever asked to pay for anything (i.e., going out as a group and objecting to dividing the meal equally. Breaks out the calculator to make sure they aren't paying any more than necessary). Always pleads poverty with the hope that someone else will pay their way. (The thing is, this person is pretty well off but now people are on to the act and rarely is this person asked to any group functions because of the penny pinching ways.)

My Grandfather.
Makes my grandmother pay for the grandkids' xmas presents-while he gives $20 per grandkid (there's only 5) and $100 to the kids. Won't leave tips when eating out. Sends me and my cousin into Wal-Mart to split a $10 bill (that's shopping to him). My grandmother can't get around and needs a new CAR-he buys himself a new truck!

One of my coworkeres was so cheap she could crack a walnut in her a*s.
Let's say a bowl of salad was fifty cents and a plate of salad was a dollar. She would sculpt an Eiffel Tower of salad in a bowl, just to save the fifty cents.
To drink? Free lemonade, of course. She would take the free glass of water, and steal the lemons and sugar that was set out for others to fix their iced tea.

My mother, God rest her soul. She squeezed pennies until they screamed.
She made all of her own clothes, because it was cheaper. Had three pairs of shoes, black, white, and one casual. Rarely bought anything for any body. It was discovered that I was blind as a bat in gradeschool, she did not want to spend the money on testing or glasses. Same thing for my teeth, and my pigeon toed feet, braces and orthopedic shoes cost too much.
Dad got bacon and eggs for breakfast, Mom and I got juice and cereal. Mom took a cheese sandwich and cookies to work everyday, and sent me to school with a pb and J, on bread from the discount bread outlet. It was stale.. The pricipal saw what I was eating and tried to tell Mom it was not healthy [back then school lunch was thirty cents, she told him to butt out. Mom portioned dinner out, to who got how much of each dish. She even resented the 2-3 pennies I needed to buy milk at school for lunch. "I suppose I have to get pennies for you for your lunch." We went on vacation every year, and yes, usually stayed in a decent motel, but meals in restaurants were cost control. And the vacation was most of the entertainment for the year. She griped about having to buy school insurance [6 bucks], my school supplies, and especially clothes, which she made. I got 2 pairs of shoes, one for school, one for church. My allowance, in high school and college, was 2 dollars every 2 weeks.
Poor me, my birthday is 13 days after Xmas. She saved a present back from Xmas for my birthday. It was usually a slip. In high school, I rebelled, and told her to keep the slip, could I have something else for my birthday?
Many more stories.

My step-father used to be. He inherited 330,000 the year I turned 18, and all I got was a bag of socks. Not even good ones either.
