NO
It takes a lot of strength to turn the other cheek.
Jesus was a pretty tough dude.

Are you going to follow the teachings of the Bible or are you going to decide what you want to think and then warp the Bible to fit it?
Jesus was about the wimpiest guy you'll ever meet. He preached the idea of the brotherhood of man. He treated women the same as men. He taught tolerance and inclusivity to the point that that you should even love your enemy. Finally, he went like a lamb to the slaughter.
Contemporary Christianity today, at least in the US, has been totally co-opted by capitalism. Capitalism teaches that you have to fight for everything you get in this world and God favors the greediest among us. If anyone doesn't prosper it's because he's -lazy-, or at least not as aggressive as his neighbor. Screw or be screwed. Father, Son and Holy Ghost, the one who eats fastest gets the most. I see this as diametrically opposed to the tolerance and cooperation and mutual responsibility for one another's welfare that Jesus taught. Faith is for WIMPS!
I read that Christians originally fought against evolution being taught in schools because they were afraid it would foster an attitude of -social- darwinism, the idea that we improve the race by abandoning the weak and old and sick. If that's true then there's been a sea-change in the way Christians see this. Today they are about as socially-darwinistic a group of people as you're likely to meet.

No. How you gonna do this if you are a wimp? It takes courage, fear not.
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and be led to glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Wimpy? NO WAY.

Turning the other cheek is not being a wimp. It means to stand up and take more fearlessly. Hmm, our Christian majority nation did not do this after 9/11. We didn't regroup and bolster for another attack, we started invading countries instead.
Hmm, cheeky indeed!

1Peter 2:22-24 He never sinned, Never told a lie,Never answered back when insulted, when he suffered he did not threaten to get even, He left his case in the hands of God who always judges fairly. He personally carried aload of sins in his own body when he died,on the cross, so that we could be finished with sin and live a good life from now on. For his wounds have healed ours! How can people say such things. Christians put there faith in the lord alone, and by doing that we're saved. How can anyone hate or say bad disrespectful things like that about the Lord when he LOVES EVERYONE SOOOOOO............ DEEPLY. Be BOLD! It takes a Strong person to be a Christian. If that Christian is Strong its' because The Lord makes them Strong.

We're supposed to be wise as serpents, but gentle as doves. We're also supposed to turn the other cheek, but I'm not clear as to the attitude we do that with. Could be, 'that's the best you can do?'.
As to 'the meek shall inherit the earth', have you looked up the original definition of meek? Controlled power. A knight's battle-horse was meek. It was also quite deadly.

No, it does not say we are supposed to be wimps. Wimps cave in when they are confronted by others. Jesus was certainly not a wimp. He didn't compromise himself or God. Are you, perhaps, thinking of the line that says we should be meek? Meek doesn't mean wimpy. It means humbly submissive, gentle, kind. Like Jesus.

I have not read any reports of Jesus, nor his apostles killing anyone. But try walking the path that they had taken, and experience the kind of wimps they were, then you will have more insight on this issue.

Psalms 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Romans 12:16-21
16 Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil; be concerned for what is noble in the sight of all.
18 If possible, on your part, live at peace with all.
19 Beloved, do not look for revenge but leave room for the wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
20 Rather, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head."
21Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good.
James 2:5
Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn't God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
Romans 5:3-8
3Not only so, but we[a] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
