It is an evening wedding, so black is okay...and keep in mind that I have tattoos on my shoulders that I would like to keep covered, without being too hot for dancing. I have a swanky work Christmas party I would also like to wear the dress too. I am a size 16, empire waist looks best on me, hour glass figure..thanks! $100 limit

The first two are too businessy - not so much fun. The third one is gorgeous - I'm a 16, also, and I would go for it! I think it'll look great for both the wedding and the Christmas party.

If you really want to cover your tattoos - then get some heavy duty tat cover up cream and use that. A woman I used to work with had facial tats and had to use it everyday when she came to work - I never saw it run, even on the hottest of days.

Good luck and have a great time!

I would go for number 3, number 1 and 2 are not really cocktail dresses. However, I don't think that the dress covers the tattoos. You could either opt for covering them up with theater make-up, which is extremely opaque or decide to wear a short-sleeve shrug over it. You could also use a long pashmina shawl, knot the ends together and wear it as a sgrug, looks very nice. Later in the evening if you get hot and it doesn't really matter for anyone to see the tatoos you can take it off.. (have tattoos myself and know the troubles of concealing them..)

Since you have stated that you have an "hour glass" figure, I dont think the first 2 would look right. You might expereince a bit of gathering in places you dont want it. I think the 3rd dress is beautiful and if you are worried about the tattoos, then throw a pashmina over the shoulders of the third dress.
By the time you get to the reception, no one is going to care one way or another about your art work.

I would choose the thid dress. It's gorgeous! And you can definitely wear this to the swanky Christmas party too. The only question is whether or not this will cover your tattoos...I'm not sure exactly where they are so you'll have a better idea of that.

They're all nice choices and I'm sure you could wear all of them again. Nothing like the little black dress!

The first two are not really cocktail attire. They are more for a semi-formal event in the evening. The third is the most appropriate but doesn't sound like it meets all your requirements and I'm not sure it would be flattering on someone over a size 8. You might try to find a 4th choice. Something like the ones below would be best.

I think the 2nd and 3rd are great choices! The 2nd dress will cover your tattoos better, but the 3rd is a gorgeous cocktail dress!! If you go with the 3rd you could wear a cute little cropped bolero to help cover your tattoos during the wedding and then at the reception take it off...

#1 is frumpy.
#2 is nice, and probably most practical for the wedding and the Christmas party.
$3 is almost a little too frouffy. And definitely isn't the type of dress you want tattoos showing with.
