My mom makes the best calzones, and they always burst open! Is there anyway to make them not burst?

Put a few vent slices on top before baking like you would do for a pie crust. This will help steam escape and help prevent blow outs.

If they're bursting at the seams, try using a fork to press the edges together. If they're bursting in the middle, cut a few slits through the top before baking - the steam needs a way to get out [just like when baking a fruit pie].

Aren't calzones good!?!

Even with vents they still break open sometimes. Maybe if you chilled the dough for an hour before you rolled it it might not break?

always make sure they do not have to much filling and make vent holes
