It really, really doesn't. I can't believe the emotion that some people invest in their conception of what Jesus looked like - despite all rational evidence to the contrary.
I hate to say it, but often the argument breaks down to the racism of the arguer. There are some people who simply will not accept that their saviour may well have been a different skin colour than themselves. I'm sure there are people (especially in the States) who adamantly believe that Jesus spoke English.
Strangely enough, I've also encountered similar seemingly racist views in the world of science. The earliest known Homo sapiens sapiens - our own species and sub-species, modern man, are known from the Klasies river mouth in South Africa. The genetic variety between different African populations is greater than the difference between any other groups of people. All of this unequivocally points to an African origin for modern man.
However, I've met people, seemingly rational, scientific, anthropologically educated people, who refuse to believe that these first modern people might have been black.
It's very, very odd, and sometimes a little sad.

The only thing of Jesus that we are to accept and believe is that he was sent by God.. was born Son of David, Mary and son of Man..
That he died for the sins of this world.. Rose from the dead to ascend into heaven to sit at the right hand of God, to return to judge the living and the dead..
After our baptism we are dead to rise to serve the spirit world..
words that are the same attributes of God..
Truth, righteousness to others, good of others and things, these words you cannot seee, feel or touch, however we give energy to them..
These people live in the physical and material world and think of things of the flesh and not the spirit.

The Bible tells us that Jesus was Hebrew, and that God chose these people to produce the Savior. It is ridiculous to see people argue over something they can answer by opening a Bible and check the facts.

A black man and white man were arguing on the way to heaven whether Jesus was black or white. The white man kept insisting Jesus was white and the black man kept saying Jesus was definitely black. When they got to the pearly gates, Jesus was standing upfront and said: "Buenas Dias"

Correct. It does not matter at all what Jesus's skin color was. I think that some people are racist. Bottom line! In all realisticness He could have been any race because you did not have to be a certain color to be a Jew.

Colossians 3:11 In this new life one's nationality or or education or social position is unimportant: such things mean NOTHING. Whether a person has CHRIST is what maters and he is equally available to all. (Jesus can speak all languages.) this is not something Christians should be arguing about. Would that please HIM?

I don't think it matters at all. Whatever color or sex you need to think of god or jesus really makes no difference in the long run, its the ability to relate to them that is important.

His skin color / race doesn't matter to me, and it's petty to fight about it. Besides, realistically speaking, considering where He was born, it isn't likely that he was either black OR white. He was born in the middle east...
The only physical description of Him found in the bible is in Rev 1:14 "His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. "
The most important thing is that He willingly came to earth and suffered and died for our sins in order to bridge the gap between us and God, so that ALL who call on His name will be saved.

I think He was more olive skinned myself. With tight curly hair. Ever notice in all the old paintings He looks Italian instead of Hebrew. He could have been any complexion it would not stop my love or belief in Him.
