But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God; for thry foolishness unto him neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

I understand that the writers of the bible did a very good job of answering every argument thrown at them.

A: The bible is the Word of God.
B: I don't believe in God.
A: You haven't even read it.
B: I've read it, and it's just a book some people made up.
A: (mental note to self: add "The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God" + "they are without excuse" in Romans because then they won't be able to say they don't believe, etc.)

That's odd, I never had a problem understanding the Bible. Always had a problem understanding how people can use the Bible to justify their actions towards others.

Not believing in something doesn't mean one doesn't understand it.

And quoting from a source to try to prove that source doesn't work. If it did, all of the Gods and Goddess' would be accepted as True.

Even those of us who have been Christians all our lives and read the Bible regularly, do not always understand every aspect of the Bible. However, the message is Good News. We accept it in faith.

I understand the Bible and know it better than most Christians. You will find that most theists look at the Bible as a book of mythology.

Yup, one of my favorite scriptures.
I think you should include the passage in
your question. Emphasis certain things in it.
Especially "spiritually discerned"

NO!! And the short and simple answer is because i DO understand the bible for what it is....a retelling of even older mythology....Egyptian, Sumerian.........Persian.....etc etc.

Anyone who would think that the bible is anything unique must NOT understand the bible, therefore....i think that it is the believers who do not understand it!!

We do understand it. It's just nonsense.

Of course it's going to say something like that. They need to make excuses for the fact that not everyone buys into their nonsense.

I do understand the Bible. I just think it's a story, like the Iliad.

And quoting a scripture is not going to change that.

Why do you presume that all people who disagree with you must be mentally slow? I understand it fine. I consciously reject it as an informed person.
